Restless uncomfortable feeling in my legs when working out?

I get a very restless and uncomfortable feeling in my legs when working out lately. It causes me to want to stop in the middle of a workout and it's really annoying.

Any ideas on what this could be? Could my shoes be too tight?

Are you talking about when you're on the elliptical
machine? I've had that and here's a article to
    tell more about it: http://www.weightlosstriumph.com/numb-feet-on-elliptical-machines-an-annoying-but-avoidable-problem.html

Then there is cholinergic urticaria where you are "allergic"
to exercise; for me, my legs start getting bright red and itchy a few minutes
into a walk or a run. However, I've been taking cetirizine (generic Zyrtec)
that I get cheaply in a large bottle at SAMs Club over
the counter that takes it away. As a matter of fact,
I've read that is one of the only drugs that help this
    condition.
  • Oh dear, I didn't know one could be allergic to an exercise.

But yes it is a numb, restless feeling. Although I get when I'm doing any kind of cardio that involves jumping around or plyometrics. I don't use an elliptical.

These are exercises I'm used to doing, though. So I don't think I can be allergic to them. Could it be my diet? Too much sodium? I'm not sure. Going to buy a new pair of comfortable trainers today and see if that helps. My old ones are suddenly unbearably pretty tight and uncomfy.
