Constipation from Whey and/or Supplements

Hi,

Happened to me during a previous training phase last year and the last 2 days but took Senokot to help.
As I was eating a low-calorie diet I added supplements & whey.

Was wondering if anybody else had experienced this after taking Whey & Supplements.

I took Reflex or CNP Whey
&
A supplement stack of following pills : Vitamin C 1000mg, Multivitamin, Cod Liver Oil, Flax Seed, Vitamin D
with a CLA with L-Carnitine 30 mins before workouts.

Experienced extremely uncomfortable constipation.

  • Do you have any form of lactose sensitivity ? My brother does and he will vomit anytime he touches whey protein.

    Very much so they put so many binders and filler in that crap.

    Sorry I'll edit that because it sounds a bit harsh. Many multivitamins have binders along with the increased Calcium carbonate which can cause constipation. Some supplements might have additional fillers which can cause constipation. Also if you are lowering your normal calorie intake you might notice some constipation.

    I think if you can eat a whole food diet high in fiber, moderate fat, and more water that might help.

    My husband and I always increase our fiber if we up our protein and we never have issues.

    Thanks Guys,

    I've changed my tracking of Sugar to Fibre and set it to 50g per day.
    I tend to limit my Sugar anyways.

    Let's see how it goes.
