    hey fuzzie

indeed, it's tough. I remember the first time I did this, i was able to distract myself from the cravings once I got into the rhythm of the program

My fasting IS from Eat Stop Eat. He (Brad Pilon, the author) recommends 2 days a week. I just added a day. According to his research between 18-72 hours of fasting gives the greatest benefits. I am doing 3 bouts of 30 hours.

@ Rassha01 Thanks and yeah, definitely give it a shot. As long as you're an adult with no illnesses like diabetes or the like, trying a 24 hour session of fasting shouldn't be a problem. It's mentally tough though.

    @ brencklea thanks!

If you are using ESE, then I am not sure why you would add another day of fasting. More is not always better.

Because I remember seeing a blog by the author where he said a third day is okay, but not recommended because some people want to go even further than that which is where things start to get dangerous.

I am definitely not gonna be tempted to go further than a third day since the 3 days are going to be mentally challenging as it is.

Here, I found the link to the author's blog with this specific point:

    http://bradpilon.com/weight-loss/fasting-for-weight-loss/fasting-3-times-per-week/

"From a physiological point of view, there is nothing wrong with fasting 3 times per week for an otherwise healthy person." -Brad Pilon

But I assume that this is not combined with a deficit on the other days (except the one 'free day').

Sounds like a terrible idea to me. Why not stick with a reasonable caloric deficit? Also, you should look into the less extreme versions like 5:2 or ESE (Eat Stop Eat) if you want to incorporate fasting.

ditto - fat loss isnt a dash, its a marathon.
