Jan 24, 2011…Happy 50th to me! At 248 pounds I was fat and disgusted by my appearance. I had let myself go. That day I started walking on the treadmill. 3.0 for 30 minutes, with two weeks I was walking 60 minutes 7 days a week. I then added 30 minutes of elliptical with the walking 7 days a week and within a month I added the stationary bike for an additional 30 minutes. By April I had lost 39 pounds and was addicted to working out. I started running soon after and was able to run 5 miles non-stop in an hour. I set a goal to ride a 100 mile bicycle endurance race known as the “Hotter N Hell Hundred” in Aug 2011. On the day of the race I weighed in at 173, I had lost 75 pounds and I succeeded and made entire 100 miles in 7 hours, 45 minutes. I ran my first 5K in October 2011 in 27 minutes and my first timed 5k in Nov 2011. My time was 24:52. I came in 4th in my age division. Then I started running more and more and cycling everyday in the Texas heat. I won several races and rode the 2012 Hotter N Hell, my goal was to beat my time by an hour. Well I blew it away my time was 5:45, two full hours better than the previous year. Finally this month I capped it all off with running my first ½ marathon, I set a goal of 2 hours 30 minutes. My official time was 2:30:56.

P.S. Why aren't we friends anymore?!

I deleted my old account so that I wasn't a slave to my nearly 800 day consecutive day count. I needed a break from it to focus on me. Friend request sent.
