Tattoo as a reward?
The more I get in shape the more I really want a tattoo. I've wanted one for years but always felt like, "well no one is ever going to see it..." I think I'm going to draw one up and sit on it a while and maybe get it next year after I'm my goal weight for a while. Anyone else do this?

Definitely!
I have a motivational system I call "Tatt for Fatt", I just now came up with that. Cool, huh?
Every 20 lbs lost, I treat myself to a tattoo and when I reach my goal weight, I'm getting my big piece done.0 -
I was thinking about that the other day, once back in shape, get a tattoo, probably something to represent my daughter!0
-
I had one before I got fat, and always said I wanted to add to it. Now I'm comfortable to sit with my top off, I'm definitely looking to get it done!0
-
Do it! That's something I would like to do when I get to my goal! Good luck!0
-
Yep! I'm planning on getting my third tattoo when I've reached my UGW, and a belly button piercing But who cares if noones going to see the tattoo, I got mine for me and aslong as I can see it0
-
I never need an excuse to get a tattoo!:happy:0

Haha, lots of tattoo lovers I see. Tbh I am super not good with needles but after having a baby I think I can do it now, soooo much blood drawn and an iv? A tat can't be so bad.0
-
You wont really even notice that it involves needles. Tattoos aren't as painful as you think they're gonna be. I think that's a great goal to set for yourself!0
-
When I reach goal I am getting large pieces done on my ribs0
-
hmmmm.some are more painful than others!........but youve been through childbirth so no doubt it'll be a breeze!:)0
-
That's what I do. Go for it!0

Tattoos as a reward are a great idea, I am working towards a chest tattoo... Currently rocking 7 others, and to be completely honest, they aren't that painful. Yes certain areas are your body are more sensitive, and certain tattoo artists tattoo a little more heavy handed, but all in all they are a great idea.0

have one on my lower back that before, would have look crazy in all the fat,,, but looks not burried in fat now so its good,,,lol0
-
not knocking tats in any way.have quite a few and i'm getting tattooed tomorrow!0
-
Thinking the same thing - hit my target and hold it for 3-6 months, get some ink done. Reminder of where I came from and how I got here.0
-
Just depends where you get it placed as far as pain, Ive had 2 babies no drugs and my last one hurt like a Son of a B**** lol. I cried on the inside, too much pride on the outside. Anywhooo great motivation and happy that you reached a point where you feel comfortable getting one. I just got my belly to that point. My next is on my rib cage, next week Whoo hoo!!!0

I have have quite a few designed and ready:) if i hit my goal by the end of July ..then i plan on getting my shoulders done!0

Not exactly as a reward for weight loss, but getting in shape led me to start doing obstacle races. And when I complete my next one I plan to get this:
It'll be my first tattoo.0 -

My reward for my UGW is a chest piece :drinker:
Certain parts hurt do hurt more, I've had the tops of my feet done and while they hurt (and the twitching was very odd) they weren't as bad as I thought! Certain parts of my half sleeve killed, especially when layering colours!0 -
I'm thinking about getting a "tramp stamp" (lower back) I've always wanted one, but to much fat... I'm not sure yet but maybe....0
-
I love tattoos, have 9 already! I'm definitely gonna get a reward one when I reach my goal!! On my stomach, so it always reminds me of my journey.. and also if I put on weight again the tattoo will go all wrong haha! now to get a flat stomach....0

Getting one this summer....Next month actually.0
-
I cant because I am on blood thinners. That sucks for me.0

how long do you guys wait once you've picked out a design? do you have it drawn on to wear it for a while? I want a full back or shoulders done but I'm thinking one on my hip to cover the stretch marks that I never should have gotten. I have a feeling if I get one I will want loads more.0
-
YES!!! Once I reach a certain goal, I'm going to treat myself to a new tattoo and I can't be more excited!0
-
Yep! When I get to goal I am going to get my half sleeves done. I already have the artist working on them so I can keep at as an extra means of motivation. And I agree with the others, it does not hurt as bad as you think it will...if at all. My last tat on my back nearly put me to sleep :)0

Ya they don't like that. I had one done once with quite a bit of alcohol in my system. And since I was always drinking then and tolerance was through the roof I was acting entirely normal. But when I started bleeding like crazy he was sure to let me know they aren't supposed to tattoo people who are "drunk".0 -

yeah, they are very addictive!!
how long I wait depends on my money situation I guess. and also I'm waiting until I lose some more weight... I've got designs already drawn up for both my arms just need to work on losing these bingo wings first!! hehe0
