Eat more to lose more?

Those of you in the "you have to eat more to lose more" school - how is it working for you? I have only been tracking calories for 2 weeks now (though I've been working out for 11 weeks, doing TurboFire). I have been netting the 1250 calories that MFP gives me. The first week, I lost a load of weight (water weight and recently gained pounds from a vacation, most likely). The second week - ZIPPO. The Scooby's Calculator and the Harris-Benedict equation say that I should net about 2200 calories per day. It's a big jump from what I'm eating now, and I'm scared to try it. Any success stories out there? Anyone eating as much as 2200 per day? (I'm 36, female, 5 ft 11 in and weigh about 224 lb - so lots to lose). I need some help taking that leap of faith! Eating too much is what got me where I am today...

If you're working out that intensly, you probably can eat more.
You aren't going to lose weight every week.
As an example, I'm older and shorter than you and started out heavier. On a good week, I get about 3 hours of cardio in. I'm losing on 1600 calories. I usually hit a "stall" every month of about 10 days to 2 weeks and then I'll get the "whoosh" and lose anywhere from 4 to 6 lbs all at once.
Try upping your calories gradually and see what happens.0 -
I am trying this now!
The BIGGEST thing is not necessarily the extra calories as it is the extra BETTER calories. I have a BIG problem with getting my protein in but, I know that if I can get more protein, that in itself is going to increase my calorie intake.
I look at it this way...your car needs gas and oil and a battery to run. Our calories and macros are those things for us and if we don't get enough, we don't function as we should. So, figured that what I was doing was stalling me so, I might as well step it up to Premium and see how it goes. I need to do something because with what I am doing, SOMETHING has GOT to be happening.
I'll keep you posted on it!! :-)0 -
It might be down to what your eating, I'm in the eat more lose more camp but i'm eating more in the way of vegetables and protein, and its hard to overeat on calories with those so I've seen consistent losses since February. Stick with it a bit longer two weeks isn't enough time for you body to adjust and hopefully you will see results soon0

That's what I usually get as well. If you need more protein or calories at the end of the day, eat peanut butter, preferably crunchy. Do not use low fat. Use regular peanut butter/mayo, olive oil, etc. You need to learn to eat regular food and control the quantity. It is a mental exercise. Vacation, holidays, etc, should not be a reason or an excuse to gain back 15 lbs, as many do.0 -
I joined an " eat more" group after regaining the weight I lost from under eating. I have been able to lose, weight, reduced my bf to under 20%, I have never stalled and I am reversing the damage done to my body from under eating. I still struggle to rebuild the muscle that was lost but I have made great progress since I started feeding my body properly.
I started at 1600 calories (TDEE -20%). I upped my calories as I lost weight. I did this until I was at goal weight and then transitioned into maintenance. I have been maintaining for 2 years and at this time eating 2500 to 3000 calories a day.0
