Watermelon Smoothie
The consistency of this smoothie is thinner than some, but it's still a cool, refreshing way to consume a healthy dose of fruit and yogurt.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
3 cups watermelon chunks
1 small banana, chopped
1 cup ice
1 1/2 cups 0% fat Greek-style vanilla yogurt (eg, Oikos or Trader Joe's)
Preparation:
Simply place watermelon chunks, chopped banana, ice and yogurt in a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into four large glasses or six small ones.

throw a scoop of protein powder in that and it would be great after a work out! I love just tossing whatever fruit I have on hand in my smoothies. I also use green tea as a base instead of water. Winter is going to suck when all these great summer fruits are out of season. Apple smoothie? hmmm How does citrus work in smoothies?

Sounds very refreshing : )....as a suggestion you could also blend the watermelon in a blender then pour into ice cube trays and freeze. This will make it nice and slushy without watering it down with ice......Thanks!0

Sounds delicious!
One of my all-time favourite snacks is a big bowl of half-frozen watermelon cubes (chilled in the freezer for about 45 minutes), served with a big splash of fresh lime juice, the zest of 1/2 a lime, and some finely chopped mint. Summer in a bowl!0 -

This sounds yum! I wasted half a watermelon last week too as it was massive and I didn't get to eat it all in time! Could have made a big batch of this smoothie with it! Grrr!
I have also just discovered frozen melon with my frozen grapes - mmmmmmmm wish I had some now!

No way!!! I don't know how you could!
Watermelon is my absolute favourite fruit for sure, but it's SO expensive these days...like £4 for a dinky little melon...we've only had a few recently as a treat.
I love the sound of all these ideas, but it's too special to blitz up for me...best just devoured in an ice cold slab! Mmmm! :happy:0 -
