Some moron...I think the creator of the .Gif format is suggesting you pronounce the extension with a soft G like Jif.

If that were true we would all be pronouncing the word Graphic incorrectly instead it should be Jraphic.

    My boyfriend and I have this debate anytime one of us mentions a gif. I say "gif" because that should be right, he says "jif" because that's what the creator says it should be.
    Just because the creator is clearly technically smart, doesn't mean he knows anything about proper speech. It's "gif" forever! :laugh:
