Today the last thing that I wanted to do was exercise. I have just been feeling blah this week and was having a difficult time motivating myself. I'm not loosing weight as fast as I'd like to but it is slow and steady. I should be thankful for that but, of course, I always want more.

After I got home today, I sat online for a bit feeling very restless. There has been a nice break in the summer heat today...so very thankful for that. So I made myself get up and off my duff and get on the elliptical machine.

When I first started w/ the elliptical I was only doing 5 mins at a time. I felt terrible about myself at that point too. 5 mins?!?! Wasn't I only 36? Come on!

Today I was on there for 45 mins. One brief break in between for a drink of water and to change the laundry around. I feel so much better and glad I got up and got on that devil machine, my nic-name for the elliptical...lol

Yes, congrats on the improvement on your devil machine... lol. I know this is a slow process, but you can totally reach your goals! :flowerforyou:
  • I remember the 1st time I ever got on an Elliptical. I had joined a gym and even had a few sessions with a trainer that came with my membership. The trainer had me get on the machien and I lasted 3 minutes before I couldn't breath. That was like 8 years ago. Today, I can go 40-60 minutes with NO problems :-) Whenever things get hard at the gym or working out, I always remember that day and push myself so I can look back at say "That was HARD, but you know what, I did it!" :-)

Congrats on getting yourself moving! I know it can be hard :-):flowerforyou:

Good going. I have heard that the trick is to tell youself you only have to get on and do 10 minutes. Then if you feel like quitting you can stop. Of course once you get going, you usually keep going for longer than 10 minutes. So the trick is to GET ON.

Don't feel bad about going slowly. Each time you add a minute more to your workout on the devil machine is a triumph! Each pound lost is a triumph, too. Anything that is worth anything to you will usually be work.... but that just makes you appreciate it all the more. (The bunnies will be so proud of you!)

Thanks everyone. :) I am very happy about my progress even though it is Much slower than it was when I was in my 20's but hopefully this time I'll be able to keep the weight off.

    Vlr...Go bunnies!!!

Well done you!! Today I did 45 mins on the exercise bike.... I used to only be able to do about 10 mins without it hurting too much.
