I bought gloves, but they don't seem to be helping. What's the trick?

I liked getting calluses from lifting when I used to lift weights. I thought it was pretty cool and I am a girl. It meant that I was working hard.

I think gloves are more for grip than to prevent callouses. I liked using them, until mine were stolen because I left them on a cardio machine :grumble:

I kinda like my callouses.

I too embrace my rough hands. Chalk will help but will not eliminate the problem. That is my favorite solution but some gyms frown on it's use.

If you have some that are thicker in the palm area, that should help.

I lift weights, and I also pole dance and do aerial arts (hoop, silks, trapeze) and my hands are always callused. I even have calluses ON my calluses. Unless it really bothers you, I wouldn't worry about them. Just embrace them and go on with your badass self.

I don't mind the caluses as long as they don't blister

Gloves and a hook grip. Maybe wrist straps.

If that's the case then your probably pinching your skin during lifts causing callouses ... Buy a pair of fat grips to make the bar thicker, then you have more surface area to spread the weight across as well as no pinching of skin
