Hi there,
I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck losing 25+ lbs by doing hot yoga on a regular basis (as their primary form of exercise, along with walking/jogging a couple times a week)?
Thanks,
Cait

You don't even need to exercise to lose weight. Calorie deficit is responsible for that. Exercise is for strength, cardio and health benefits.

Yep! Weight loss is calories in vs. calories out. If hot yoga is burning calories (hint: it is), it's helping you lose weight.
That being said, I did hot yoga for a while and really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend, not just for weight loss but for the general fun of it0 -

Hot Yoga is a wonderful way to stretch out all of those tired muscles after cardio/weight bearing excercises for fitness! Keep watching caloric intake for weight control!0

I did hot yoga a few times, I stopped cos I hated the heat. But that's just a gimmick, heat won't make you lose more fat than exercises in normal temperature... just sweat out more water (what may make you lose weight... water weight, not fat).
Yoga is good exercise, depending from type you can burn 100 - 400 cals in a hour, there are some very intense ones. But general stretching type of yoga won't burn much cals, therefore will not make much of a difference when it comes to weight loss.
And besides:You don't even need to exercise to lose weight. Calorie deficit is responsible for that.0 -
I tried Hot Yoga before.... I lost 1# (water weight of course because I was so overheated by the end I about died). But, while there I talked to a lot of regulars that swear by it and do it all the time.... saw before pics and they looked great. Of course, we all know nutrition takes a major role in weight loss.0

DIETING IS THE BEST WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT Actually, it's not. They are full filled with vitamins and minerals which requires to your body. The potential for more harm than good comes when you approach a fitness weight loss program without consideration for your current conditions when another fitness option may be better for you.
