Eating over BMR

Ok so my TDEE is around 2300. BMR is 1810. If I eat over that, like go over by 100 Cals with that sabotage me? Especially since I just started with this new cal goal of 1810?

    Instead of stressing yourself with "BMR" this and "TDEE" that, I'd recommend that you eat at or just below your daily caloric recommendation. It'll be much easier and way more sustainable than stressing yourself out wondering if you've "sabotaged" your diet.

    Not your TDEE. TDEE - 15% unless you have a lot of weight to lose and then you can subtract 20 or even 25%.

    SO, on days I workout, and burn 400-500 cals, what then? TDEE-15% is 2003. So, i eat this, and then workout, but don't eat the cals back, right? I don't know why this is so complex to me!

    There is nothing wrong with eating your BMR. I eat my BMR (1650) plus exercise cals (200-500) and I lose regularly.

    Or you can do the TDEE - a % route. Google for scoobys TDEE calc or look around here for the road map threads

    Hmm, trying to think of the best way to simplify it.

    Think of TDEE as maintenance. You wouldn't gain or lose any weight if you ate exactly at your TDEE everyday.

    Think of BMR as the lowest limit. Even if you sat all day, chances are your body would burn that many calories, so to function and exercise, you need to eat more than that.

    TDEE minus 15% or 20% of that is generally a good spot for weight loss because it's generally low enough for sufficient loss without being too low.

    Your BMR is supposed to be what they would feed your body if you were in a coma, and literally not active at all. Of course it is ok to eat above that. You're not in a coma, are you? Most of the time it is recommended that you eat below TDEE and above BMR. To eat below BMR might make you lose weight faster, but is not necessarily healthy because your body will start to lack nutrition below that level.

    This is exactly what I do. I got a FitBit to help me keep track of my exercise calories and to help keep me motivated, too. It's slow going for me, but I'm nearly at my goal weight, so that's to be expected.

    Correct. TDEE includes exercise so you don't eat extra for exercise. MFP does not include exercise in its calculation, that is why you are supposed to eat them with the MFP method.
