Weekends with the family are kinda the hardest when it comes to eating right. We tend to eat at fast food places since we like to get out the house and I gotta be strong to order a salad instead of a combo like I normally do. Going to try something different with the kids by maybe taking them hiking. I would love to get my family on the same page. Wish me luck if I need to I will log in here for support.

What do you want more the combo or to be a healthy weight? If you only have one cheat over the weekend then you're fine, just make sure you decide beforehand when you want that to be and make sure you are good the rest of the time. We like to get out of the house too and meals are the easiest way to do that but could you try something else like going to a park and bringing a meal to eat there? Something where you're not eating fast food? Or do something like Subway instead of McDonalds? Good luck, you can do it

Plan ahead and pack some healthier options. You have to do the work if you really want it and not use being with your family as an excuse.

You'll save lots by not eating out, it saves $$ and tons of calories. You don't know how most places prepare foods, often cooking in butter and oils. Make homemade pizzas for dinner saturday night...simple and rewarding. Turkey pepperoni, wheat crust, lite pizza sauce, fat free cheese, tons of veggies!

^ or make your own pizza sauce
Tinned toms, pureed toms, garlic puree, dried chillis, oregano, salt.

Put it in a blender and blitz away, amounts to taste.
  • Its been a long road to my losing weight and I totally relate to you about being with the family. It's all about self control too and learning that losing weight is not the only accomplishment in this journey.

Beans and fish are an excellent way to lose weight and curb hunger cravings. If you buy frozen fish, always thaw it the night before. I keep a week's worth of fish now in the freezer and take one out the night before. No salt just lemon to season along with tarragon and other spices.

I take a bag of beans (black beans, kidney etc) and soak them overnight. Rinse in the morning and soak till before dinner. Simmer for an hour and eat the beans and fish during the week. Guaranteed weight loss and amazing skin, collagen boost ad flat stomach. You also feel strong and healthy.

I do yoga and walk 7 miles.

I like to splurge a bit on the weekends too... and it is totally a social thing as well. The good part is... i have ALL DAY to work out extra hard and make sure i burn the extra calories I plan to eat. So it works out in the end :) I do not allow myself to eat that extra bit if i dont make it to gym first. Then it feels like a reward, and not a guilty thing.
