I need more than fruit for breakfast - gotta have my protein! I usually have eggs & toast a a piece of fruit, or oatmeal with Greek yogurt, fruit & nuts mixed in. Good stuff.0

You should definitely have some protein with it. A couple eggs, some yogurt, cottage cheese etc. Helps so your blood sugar doesn't spike and crash later.0
-
I have to have coffee!0
-
mix it in to some greek yogurt to make it a much better and filling breakfast option. I wouldn't have any more fruit the rest of the day though. I limit it to one serving a day0

I have fruit every day for breakfast....usually a cup or so of mixed berries, or half a grapefruit or something. But I also have 2 eggs pretty much every day for my protein. During the work week I have all of the above with my Coach's Oats...on the weekends I throw in some bacon and whole grain toast...sometimes potatoes.0

well i have why protein so i have that with my fruit?0

I just had fruit for breakfast today! But I paired it with some Yogurt and Granola0

It is healthy but not very balanced if you take everything into consideration! Have your fruit with low fat greek yoghurt for calcium and protein, and sprinkle on some nuts+seeds for healthy fats, and then maybe a tbsp. or two of oats for carbs! Much more all rounded0
-
Well you should have fruit on the side with a piece of healthy wholewheat toast with natural PB! Either that or a healthy cereal, you need some form of slow burning carb to see you over till lunch cos fruit is simple sugars and might not fill you up.0

Do what works for you! Try it. If you are still hungry, eat other things (like the protein advice). Personally, I eat a banana with a tablespoon of peanut butter nearly every morning. A lot of people tell me it is not enough, but when you get advice here, you should always include "for me" at the end of it. (I.e. Fruit isn't enough for breakfast for me).
I also can't eat eggs, which is pretty common advice to get more protein. The banana/pb along with awake tea and followed by green tea at about 10-11 is enough to get me through lunchtime. It works for me and I have lost nearly 40 pounds doing it.0 -
I tend to keep breakfast small because that's what works best for me, and some days I will have just an apple. As long as you aren't super hungry, you can eat whatever you want for breakfast. Just get your calories/protein/etc. in over the course of the day, and you can time it all however you like.0

You eat what you need for your daily calorie and nutrient requirements.
I have a big breakfast every day because I have my workout just before breakfast time.
I do need protein, complex carbs and healthy fats.
I usually have Oatmeal ( Old fashioned kind) boiled with cinnamon stick, water and one quarter apple. I add skim milk, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon and one quarter cup blueberries as topping.
Finally,I have two whole eggs, boiled 3 minutes in water, as part of my daily breakfast
Good luck in your journey0 -
Don't know about what is general better, but I can't have fruits for breakfast. First, because just a fruit meal gives me terrible stomach burns (my gastric acid levels tend to get very high from any kind of fruits), second, because if I eat more than 1 serving of fruits a day (and a good breakfast would have more than a serving) gives me bloath and gas.
I prefer either protein breakfast (yogurt or eggs or cooked chicken meat) if I know that I have to wait more for the next meals (protein keep me full a long time), either carb breakfast (like digestive biscuits) when I have to walk a lot to do stuff in the morning.
You should try things to see what it's best for you.0 -
It doesnt matter what you eat or when you eat it. What's important is getting enough calories during the day. Also, protein and fats will improve satiety. If all you can eat is fruit, go for it.0

I have to have coffee!
this with a poached egg, slice of toast and avocado!0 -
A lot of grocery delis carry chicken cooked several ways.Roasted or baked is good....if you have access to a refrigerator, you could have chicken for breakfast. How about a protein smoothie? Easy to make,or buy.I used to like the MyOPlex shakes, but use a blender to make my own.Peanut butter on bread/toast or English muffin, taco with chicken & salsa..Good luck with what works for you.0

think i will try whole wheat toast and fruit in the Morning0

I have recently been having just fruit for my breakfast, but I think I need to add a little oatmeal to it as I tend to get hungry within a couple hours of eating it.0
-
Do whatever works for you and if a fruit cup is what you want for breakfast, just do it! Your body will tell you if it's right or wrong for you:)0

^^^^^^ very good advice, and, shock horror, you do not even have to eat breakfast
do what fits in with you, not what fits in with a computer or internet searches0 -
It depends on if you plan to eat like a hobbit or not. I have very small meals and snack A LOT, the majority of the calories in my food diary are from snacks are little mini-meals.0
-
Do what works for you as long as you get as close to your macros as you can.
this morning I had a oatmeal with PB and J. and I washed it down with choc protein drink.
mmm good0 -
As long as you hit your calorie, and p/c/f goals, and get the rest of your vitamins and nutrients each day, it doesn't matter when you eat what you eat. If you only want fruit for breakfast, go for it.0
-
IF it works well for you, then do it. I need protein first thing in the morning (to stave off too many headaches)
I like Quest Bars and fruit in the morning.
Or a turkey burger if it's already in patty form and I easily throw it in a pan to cook.0 -
Why would you think it could be "bad"?0
-
Eat what feels good for you.
Most of the days I have only fruit for breakfast. Every 2 hours fruit (2 bananas, then maybe 2 apples etc) before noon. I have proteins later in the day and even that not every day, because it just doesn't agree with me.
And, btw, there are some proteins in fruit, too0
