5'10'' calories for the day

I'm a 24 year old female and 5'10'', how many calories should I be having per day (NOT including exercise calories)

    I'm in pretty much the same situation as you. Same height and only a few years younger. I'm trying to lose 2lbs per week = which is about 1,450 cals per day. Not going to lie, I REALLY struggle eating 1200. I'm just not hungry. I eat more veg and fruit helpings after exercising though but if you have any advice on foods which might help me reach my calorie allowance I'd really appreciate it.

    This is going to vary a lot depending your activity level, body composition, and goals. Eating 1200 calories a day is basically torture for me. It's not even close to enough food. I used to be able to eat that little (although I didn't love it), but I was less active and had much less muscle than I do now. I've found I'm most comfortable around 1700 calories on a regular day, plus a little extra if I do a more intense work out. However, there are others who can eat less than that and be fine... I just can't. I'll end up light headed and miserable if I eat that little.

    I'm somewhere between 5'10" and 5'11" and I eat 1650 a day, plus some exercise calories. The number will depend on your current weight and body fat %. Find a good TDEE and BMR calculator online. Eat TDEE -20%, unless that falls below your BMR, then eat at your BMR (plus exercise calories). The closer you are to your goal weight, the slower you will lose weight.

    If you only have 13 pounds to lose, set your goal here to "Lose 1/2 pound per week".

    Choose an accurate Activity Level. DO NOT choose Sedentary unless you have no job, don't do any housekeeping, don't go to school, and don't have any kids. Lightly Active is the lowest you should choose.

    Then eat what the site tells you to eat, log your exercise and eat back those calories. That is how this site is designed to be used,

    Do that for one month. Look at your progress and adjust at that time if necessary.

    I'm 5'10 and nearly twice your age (which means my BMR would be much less) and I maintain around 1800+exercise. When I am trying to shift a couple of kilos I go for 1600 plus exercise. When I first started MFP I was eating 1200 + exercise and hungry ALL THE TIME - plus stabby and *****y. That lasted about two weeks before I upped the cals!

    We are lucky we are tall, which means we can eat more and still lose weight. My advice? Don't go hungry when you don't have to. And eat the cake :)
