I love cooking, but.... I am always looking for fast-prep recipes. I work from home, so I could recommend a 1/2 cup of mixed salad beans - kidney, chick pea, lentil, etc. - with a splash of lemon and sometimes a splash of olive oil. Good protein and fibre, and you don't get any easier than that. I would eat an entire cup -- hell, more -- except that I am watching carbs.
So that's one idea.
My latest is to cook a lot of chicken at once -- usually just simmered in broth. Then I divide it up, freeze some, use some in a sandwich (though, again, carbs! so not too many sandwiches lately) or use it in some other recipe. Because it`s already cooked, it saves prep time for whatever else you make with it.
And because I am THAT lazy, I will often eat a tin of sardines directly from the can after a workout. Usually with lemon sauce.
Hope some of this helps!0 -
I just buy chicken breasts and a cheap bottle of BBQ sauce/marinade. Put the unfrozen chicken in a big gallon ziplock bag along w. the BBQ sauce and leave it in the fridge for a day.
then bake the chicken the next day on a pan, and your done.0 -

Put a crock-pot bag into a crock pot on Sunday night - put temp to low
Put in chicken breast and taco seasoning - maybe some tomatoes/rotel/salsa whatever you fancy
Go to sleep
Wake up and put some chicken ona low carb high fiber tortilla - add fixings.
Pull crockpot bag out of crockpot tie it or put a rubber band around to seal and put into fridge
20 minuts before you want to eat, put crock pot back in crockpot and put on high
At the end of the chicken throw away bag - No mess0 -
Smoothy:
1 cup skim milk
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
4 tablespoons skim milk powder
splash of Vanilla
1 cup frozen berries of your choice (or 1/2 Crystal light flavor packet)
Blend in blender or Magic bullet until smooth.
Depending on the Yogurt this can be as high as 28 grams of protein.0 -
Pampered Chef makes a stone called the Small Ridged Baker. I went to a PC Party and saw it used in a recipe and have been using it ever since...even bought one for my kitchen challenged son for college.
What I do is purchase the boneless, skinless chicken strips or small breasts, though thighs will do too. When I get it home, I put each piece in it's own snack sized zip lock bag...each with different marinade. BBQ, Italian, Lemon Pepper, etc. Then I label them and put them all into a freezer zip lock bag and freeze.
When you want something fast, you can take one out, defrost it while you are exercising and then place it on the Small Ridged Baker. Into the microwave, 3 minutes on a side, and it comes out very moist though cooked through. (depending on size of piece, you may want to experiment with how much time on a side.) If you know you want something ahead of time, you can let it thaw out in the fridge. Do Not put it on the Small Ridged Baker frozen...has to be unfrozen.
I eat the chicken in many different ways, though my favorite is as an open faced sandwich. I slice up the chicken, toast a sandwich thin, spread 1/8 - 1/4 of a mashed avocado between the 2 slices and put the chicken on top. Sometimes I add tomato, some baby spinach pieces or a dash of mustard. I also add it to a salad made with baby spinach, sliced mini-peppers (red/yellow/orange), roasted unsalted sunflower seeds and some craisins.
The Sandwich Thins are 100 calories
The 1/8 - 1/4 mashed Avacado is 50 or 100 Calories
The calories for the Chicken depends on the size.
Very yummy...and you can eat the Chicken all by itself as well...I do that many times.
I also purchase Schwan's Salmon Burgers...they are frozen whole pieces of fillet, can be prepared from frozen on the stove top by pan cooking. 110 calories and also very yummy. I use them in the sandwich as described above as well.0 -

Fastest but highest protein would be a protein shake...
And anyway many high protein foods takes less than ten minutes to make if you have the ingredients!0 -
Thanks!0
