Okay so I hate working out and cant stand running. I hate walking alone, so I joined the YMCA. Need the motivation. Anyway I found this great workout in Fitness Magazine that I just want to share with everyone. Basically put- before you realize it half an hour has passed and you have worked your tail off! This is done on the treadmill. The workout you get from it is phenominal!

4 minutes walking 0% incline 3.5-4.0 speed
2 minutes walking 2% incline 4.0-4.5 speed
1 minutes walking 0% incline 3.5-4.0 speed (recovery)
2 minutes walking 4% incline 4.0-4.5 speed
1 minutes walking 0% incline 3.5-4.0 speed (recovery)
2 minutes walking 6% incline 4.0-4.5 speed
1 minutes walking 0% incline 3.5-4.0 speed (recovery)
2 minutes walking 2% incline 4.0-4.5 speed
start again
2 minutes walking 2% incline 4.0-4.5 speed
1 minutes walking 0% incline 3.5-4.0 speed (recovery)
2 minutes walking 4% incline 4.0-4.5 speed
1 minutes walking 0% incline 3.5-4.0 speed (recovery)
2 minutes walking 6% incline 4.0-4.5 speed
1 minutes walking 0% incline 3.5-4.0 speed (recovery)
2 minutes walking 2% incline 4.0-4.5 speed
4 minutes cool down 0% incline 3.5- 4.0 speed

200 calories burned (yes its true!!!) 2.0 miles walked and most importantly your ENTIRE BODY gets a great work out. Trust me before you realize it your workout is over and you will feel it everywhere. :-)

I hope you guys try this, and I strongly recommend it if your anything like me and do not like to run. If you do like to run this will train you to improve your speed.

Good Luck!!!

After a couple weeks of that, add a 2-3 lb weight to each hand and raise them to tummy level using the natural motion of your swinging arms, and that'll be just the right amount of resistance to ramp up your workout. You'll REALLY feel that.

I heard that it's not good to walk with weights. That it can hurt your shoulders and other joints. Every site I looked at said it's not a good idea. Just google walking with weights.

Try ankle weights or vest weights/back pack.
