When I started putting on weight, I decided that the highest I'd ever allow myself to get was 175. I went to the doctor in December and was 186 :ohwell: . So then, plus outgrowing my "feeling heavy today" pants.

When I nursed off 40 lbs after my son was born and the last 20 weren't going anywhere. That's when it was time to get serious. I refused to spend the last leg of my twenties unhappy with how I looked.

Pretty much my doctor told me I was digging myself an early grave...some really ****ty blood work, etc. I didn't start off trying to lose weight...just eat healthier and get better nutrition from my food... exercise a bit to get my fitness up. In that process, I simply lost weight...about 35-40 Lbs. I've completely reversed my blood work and have gone from 6 different meds to 1 medication. I've probably added about 20 years to my life at the rate I was going before. I'm healthier and happier and more fit than I've been in years...weight loss part was just gravy.

My chronic pain was at an all time high and part of that was weight related. I was sick of the pain and knew that if I was in better health my FM wouldn't be so severe. I was not obese, but I was on the high end of overweight and I felt unhealthy. I'm now almost half way to my goal and can already feel a difference in my pain levels, which is awesome motivation to just keep going lol

Scale went up three years in a row at my annual physicals. I had to admit that exercise alone wouldn't keep my slim in my 40's...

When, at only 30, my doctor wanted to put me on cholesterol meds. Woke my butt up right quick! I go in for new labs around the first of June. Hoping to see much better numbers.

When I was little, I remember seeing size 50 pants and thinking that anyone who had to wear pants that big must be huuuuuge. About a year and a half ago, I went clothes shopping since what I had didn't fit. Nothing in the men's department fit, so I wandered over to the big and tall section (and I'm not that tall). I was able to find a pair of pants that fit there. I looked at the size, and was shocked to realize that they were 48s. I decided to lose weight before I hit a milestone I had once thought impossible. I'm down to 34s now, and feeling much happier.

When the second toe on my left foot went partially numb for four weeks. I freaked out and started dieting.

Saw a really unflattering picture someone took of me. Also, my clothes didn't fit anymore.
