Has anyone else heard of this strictly low calorie 3 day diet? Apparently you can lose up to 10lbs by following it to the dot.
It doesnt look too bad but heard that the weight lost doesnt stay off for long.
I was thinking of giving it a go soon just to get a boost but now im not so sure!

Anything that promises that quick of a weight loss is going to make you lose mostly water - it's just not possible to lose 10 pounds of fat in 3 days - you need a calorie deficit of 3500 calories per pound, so to lose that, you would need a 35,000 calorie deficit over 3 days - unless you are extremely obese, or an Olympic athlete in training who burns 10,000 calories a day, the average person just can't achieve that. And if it is water that comes off, it goes back on as soon as you return to normal eating.0

The Greenlane diet is a very low calorie diet – a typical day’s eating culminates in only 700 calories. This is a crash diet – a sudden and severe reduction in calories that results in primarily fluid loss. The diet should never be undertaken for more than 3 days, any longer and your body will immediately slow down metabolism and place you on target for yo-yo dieting (and subsequent weight gain).
The Greenlane Hospital diet contains a small selection of foods; Dry toast, fruit, tuna, ‘snax’ biscuits. Snax biscuits are a cracker made by the food brand Griffins in New Zealand indicating that this diet may have originated from this part of the world (which does have a Greenlane hospital in Auckland). However this cannot be verified.
It's similar to the Scarsdale diet from the 70s. It's been around a long time and has nothing to do with the Heart Foundation.0 -
I've not heard of it, but I would bet that anything that allows you to lose 10 lbs in three days won't last long... If your goal is to use it as a kick-start cleanse type thing, it might be okay, but be prepared to gain at least half of it back shortly after.
I did a 10-day kick-start that limited food items to 5 particular items and I lost 15 pounds, but I knew some of it would come back - I just wanted to rid my system of the processed junk and sugar to get on the right track. So, I gained back about 7 within a week, but then the changes implemented afterward let me keep going and lose it again.0 -
That's how i heard of this diet today as i was having a discussion with someone about giving me a boost, i am aware that some of it would come on, im pretty sure the article i read said a max of 10lbs can be lost but i read reviews from people who had done it and some lost 5 or 6lb so i suppose it depends on your body.
A friend of mine is going to try it soon so i might spectate and see what happens to her before taking the plunge myself0 -
I've tried it before, years back, and I just started it again today.
I lost 6 lbs in the 3 days, and I gained some back but it kicked my "over eating, always hungry, huge portion sizes" in the days.
It made me feel less hungry after that but then I got into a bad habit again. Today is the day I am starting new, and healthy clean life, so I am doing it again.
When I start to over eat or feel hungrier again, I will do the 3 days again, and it will put me back on track. (one every few months)
I do recommend it if you over eat or have big portions, it helped me a lot with that and small portions but really filling if you drink lots of water too!0 -
