How to find the generic banana in the database?

Can't seem to find the generic banana that has all the different sizes and hundreds of confirmations. Used to be one under raw banana, but not anymore. Looked up generic banana too, but just a bunch of ones people entered (no clue why MFP lets this stuff get muddied up like that). Can someone help me please?

    Try "bananas raw".

I usually search based on brand and size if I can. I have a generic Dole medium sized and two different larger Del Monte's in my quick reference that works for me.

I noticed yesterday when I searched the database for a banana that it was convoluted with a bunch of banana flavored foods. Search: (USDA) banana medium. Include parenthesis.

I find that you always have to enter the word as a plural.

    Bananas
    Apples
    Strawberries

if you want the generic MFP data entry

Derp needed that "s". Really wish the search engine was more intuitive. Thank you though!

I'm sure you didn't used to need the plural.
