As an "experienced" healthy lifestyle food changer - I was aware of most of these.... but quite a few of these were learned through (bad) experience. I'll never forget thinking I'd made such a good choice at Orange Julius with my fat free orange smoothie (fruit no-fat yogurt, how bad could that possibly be.... right??) It was like 800+ calories bad. I often see people I know making a lot of these same mistakes, particularly with protein or energy bars- eating them as snacks between meals (all 4-500 calories of them) and thinking they're making good choices.

Very cool read - I recommend it to everyone!

This was definitely a great slide show. Especially the salad. Everyone's like oh a salad is good for a diet, but by the time I add all the stuff I like to make a salad taste good it winds up being as many calories and fat as a hamburger lol. Makes you think twice about some of the food choices you pick.

Lots of good info on that site! Thanks
  • That's brilliant! I like that a lot. I was shocked by the iceberg lettuce, I thought that that may have had a lot more nutrition that it actually does. I recommend that slideshow.

Very good slideshow/article. I disagree about the milk though...1% is far better for you than skim milk, as you are not able to absorb the fat soluble vitamins from skim milk :)
