Good Morning everyone - I am hoping I can find a few good friends, I lost most of mine during this last time I left MFP, but I am back. I gained my 30 pounds I had lost but I am hoping this time I can do it right and stick to it. NOW, I just need a little support if you can muster any up.

If not, no worries, I can do this on my own but I would rather not.

So if you could give me just ONE hint on helping me, what would it be, please the more the marrier, I am hoping to add each hint to a spreadsheet and than add two or three new ideas a week.

I can do this and I hope we can do it together!

Con

When the desire to improve yourself and your health outweighs your desire to over eat, be lazy, whatever... only then will you see lasting progress.

i am learning to be patient with the process as it does take a long time
do not do anything drastic that you cannot sustain. i havent given up anything just trying my best to work on portions.

Wow I'm totally understanding what you're saying, I know it's cliche but take one day at a time works for me. I also love the motivation I get for my new pals that I've met here. Good luck and I'm sending a friend request

Great post. This same quote can be applied to so many things we encounter in life.

Never tell yourself "I can't eat that".

Instead tell yourself "I could eat that if I wanted it but I'll most likely only feel guilty and I'd rather see a loss on the scales".

Some times it takes a few false starts until it clicks. Don't rush it, it will come. Until I embrassed that it is a lifestyle change I only had short term success. My weight loss has taken a lot longer than I have wanted but I figure I'm ok with it as long as I don't have to lose it again.

This is really good advice. I have joined and quit MFP over 3 times because I always get overwhelmed trying to make 5000 changes the first few weeks. Recognize that this is a slow process and you won't see progress overnight. It's taken me a while but I've lost almost 20 lbs and, although it's not noticeable physically, I already feel better!

Good luck, you can do this!

Don't get down on yourself when you have what I like to call a "bad food day." It always seems that I have a day, not a meal, that I totally screw up on. But, I get back on track the next day-usually with more determination because I can tell the difference in my body from that one bad day. Being healthy is a lifelong commitment, not a monthlong or yearlong. You've done it before, you can do it again. But this time, continue to monitor to maintain when you've reached your goal. YOU can do it!
