Help, I need some motivation/ help. Ok so my weightloss is very minimal and slow. I started on 23/1/13 at 95.1kg (209.6 lb) and now 4 months later I am 89.6 kg (197 lb). I am trying to eat healthier and usually am under my calories for the day, I do a small amount of exercise everyday. I would have thought that this would have me loosing more weight, I feel like I am busting a boiler and getting nowhere. Before this I did no exercise and was a couch potato, now I'm walking, doing yoga gardening( setting up a large garden is a huge amount of hard labour lol ). I seem to loos a kilo then nothing for weeks then loose a kg then nothing again, it is so demoralising, and definately no motivation to get out of bed and go walking in the cold before the kids get up. Help any ideas or suggestions on what I am doing wrong ( my diary is open please feel free to look). I did the whole BMW and ratio things and I eat back my few exercise calories, help

You seem to be doing okay...it is just going to take time. It took me originally 3 years to lose 50 lbs. Then through a trip and not being careful, I put 17 of those back on... I am back down to the 50 lbs off but it took me about 9 months. This is a long term proposition as far as I am concerned. I am amazed at those who lose so quickly but apparently it isn't for you and me. Just keep plugging away at it.0

Try lowering your carb intake to below 100 if you can. Substitute in more protein to make up the difference.0

Yes, I agree about the carbs and proteins. Try resenting your goals to be 40%carb, 30%proteins, 30%fats. It makes a huge difference. Otherwise, I think you're right on track. I'm losing slowly like that, too. I seem to be losing a pound every three weeks or so. Instead of focusing only on the weightloss, also be mindful of the other things that are happening in your body. Even though you may not be seeing any changes on the scale or in how your clothing fits...remember that you are making your muscles stronger and more flexible, you're making your heart stronger, you're building lung capacity and endurance, and so much more!! You are doing good things, keep that in the front of your mind.0

I am also going very slowly and am exercising a lot. I sometimes get discouraged but then I think its taken me 36 years to get like this so its ok if its a bit slower. Also, when I see the scale not moving downwards, I am just grateful its not moving upwards! The loss wil come and its actually even better that it is slow because that means you get well into a healthy routine and I am hoping it will be better for excess skin.0

Thanks guys, need to hear some of those comments, it took me 10 years to get this overweight so I should be patient about taking it off. Kitscatspaws, good point about slow and steady setting up a good routine, and I hadn't thought about the excess skin. It's nice to have people to support you when you need a little help thanks again

My guess is that your logging isn't as accurate as you think it is. Eat a little less and see what happens.0
