Trying to get to 199 for the first time in 10, maybe 15, years ..
Using a pool party that we have been invited to on Sunday as motivation ..
Losing 20 lbs in a week may not be reasonable or sensible but trying to do the best that I can.

Be careful that can be really dangerous.0

I'm sorry. Twenty pounds in a week sounds like suicide. I know people who've refused to eat and still didn't lose that much. Besides, it won't stay off, even if you can get it off. Wouldn't it be more reasonable to just do it the healthy way?0

Hmmm not real sure how you pulled that one off. Sounds like water weight. You'd have to burn 14,000 calories more than you ate in one day to accomplish a 4 lb weight loss in 24 hours. That or have the worlds fastest metabolism. Lol.0

I agree with the above......... I think you may need to rethink what you are trying to do.0

Don't sound to safe or even smart for that matter! I'd stick to the good ole eating your calories and exercising routine, believe it or not it will get you further than anything else!!
-4 lbs in 24 hours sounds re-dunk-ulous!! Possible water weight? Good luck either way!0 -
What are you doing to lose the weight.?0

4lbs in 24hrs is more than likely water weight. We all fluctuate day to day. Maybe you should just drink water (at least 64oz a day, maybe up to to 100oz, I wouldn't go much more than that) and just cut out processed foods. Try eating my fresh fruits and veggies, and do this a more healthier way. I think you should take a step back and look again, maybe only try for 5lbs (which is still pretty high) but it's a little more reasonable than 20lbs.0

they do it all the time on the biggest loser:................ get a lot of good exercise:noway:0

not healthy at all...please rethink! :flowerforyou:
You may find that this approach will not be supported by many members here on MFP...
There are a few on here that are fasting on certain days but these are being done in a medically safe manner.
Those 16lbs will go...but if you do it in a healthy way...you will keep them off and avoid damaging your body :flowerforyou:0 -

Individuals on the Biggest loser have a LOT of weight they want to lose. The bigger an individual is...the easier the weight will be lost. :flowerforyou:
The last 20lbs certainly will not come off that easy..
Please remember that we have a lot of new members here today and encouraging goals like the OP is really not helpful....

What did you do to lose 4 pounds in one day? Be careful. Your goal weight does not sound very safe for such a short amount of time. Fasting and cleansing is great for detoxing but for weight loss, it won't stick. Good luck to you and if you do decide to lose the weight the good ol fashioned way all of us here on Mfp will be here to support you. Good luck0

Do the hcg diet, you will loose up to two pounds a day, and its a halthy way to loose the weight, and you wont gain it back. i just finished up my round, lost 16 pounds (an i cheated several times) should have lost a heck of alot more, but now i'm in the stabilization phase. doing good.0

That is not safe at all and if anything, you are just harming yourslef long run..
even if you happen to be a big person and having tons of weight to loose, it is not safe at all to loose 4 pounds in 24 hours.. I would suggest that you review your method and do it safely..(i am talking as physician here).
Best of luck

You guys are exactly right, it is neither safe nor sensible to lose the kind of weight that I have the last two days.
Please allow me to elaborate on my situation because I think it is unique and will hopefully make me look like less of an idiot.
I have a HORRIBLE diet, always have. I drink, on average, 10 or more cans of soda every single day. When I am not drinking Mountain Dew, I'm eating some sort of sweet like cookies, cake or candy .. etc.
I drink zero water. What water I do get comes from the foods I eat and I doubt that amounts to anything.
The ONLY thing that I have done differently since starting MyFitnessPal on Sunday is pay attention and make better choices. I haven't worked out except to mow the yard. Otherwise I have just drank a LOT less soda, eaten very little sweets and held myself accountable all because of MFP.
In fact, both days I made big missteps right before bed. The first night I ate a bunch of Twizzlers and last night I ate a couple of cookies plus an extra Mountain Dew. The first night I went from a positive balance of 300 calories to 50 over, last night I had about 700 calories left to go and nearly obliterated that balance too.
I dropped another 3.6 lbs since yesterday for a total of 7+ lbs dropped since Sunday.
I don't imagine or expect this pace to continue but I am going to keep making better choices because of this site/service.
EXTREMELY excited by all of this. And VERY appreciative of all of your comments.
Best of luck to all.0 -
Sorry that I worded the title of my post so poorly.0
