Finally getting truly fit, difficult situation though

hey guys! I'm new to myfitnesspal (I made an account about a year ago but never used it, now I'm all in). I've always been a little heavier than I should be but never addressed it since it didn't effect my sports performance too much, but now I've started rock climbing and love it and need to finally be fit to be good at it. I also am aware that I am uncomfortable with my own body and need to get fit to raise my self esteem. Unfortunately, I was born with Type 1 diabetes and celiac disease (a gluten allergy) so dieting becomes tough and insulin causes me to put on weight. Either way, I'm going to run and work out and do yoga and eat right until I finally am where I want to be. So, basically, does anyone have any tips for a newcomer? and even better, does anyone know some healthy gluten free recipes? thanks so much for any advice!

Hi and welcome to myfitnesspal. Knowing what you need to do is the first step toward completing it.
Eating gluten free at home and on the go is easy enough but changing your habits concerning food is harder.

Any paleo or primal websites and blogs will have oodles of gluten free recipes. One of my favorites is an aggregation of recipes from many sites called Chowstalker.com. Its counterpart, Dessertstalker.com, features gluten free desserts.

I think the best suggestions I could give are: make sure to eat enough, don't deprive yourself, stay active, and drink water.
