I joined MFP yesterday because my Endocronologist sent me to help me lose weight to manage my diabetes with a 1100 calorie a day diet.. Due to many illnesses and a recent total knee replacement, I have been living a sedentary lifestyle for about 4 years now. Many months in rehab and still not walking without a walker. Have had several strokes due to my Vasculitis, therefore walking not stable

My Inspirations are:
To get my diabetes under control
To be able to do gardening and housework again (yes even miss the housework)
To be able to do social things with husband again

Would love to make some friends in here if you don't think I am too old for you.

You can do it! You may find that you can eat more than that too and still lose a bunch of weight. (Lots of people on here freak out about 1100-1200 cals being way too low). I try to stay around 1500, but I also pig out on the weekends and then drop down to about 1200 a couple of days during the week. Of course, you have to just do what is right for you. You will figure it out. Best wishes!!!!!!
