My best friend ended up in the hospital for 2 months due to anorexia (i think I ate more during that time as a subconscious rebellion) . I don't think this has anything to do with eating habits after watching her go through this. It has more to do with psychological issues. Are you suffering from dealing with past emotional/abuse or a major trauma? That could be causing your eating disorder. Are you suffering from current abuse or an overly controlling partner? That also is known to cause eating disorders. When you feel your life or emotions are out of your control it most likely is the trigger to self destructive behavior.

Feel free to send me a FR if you need non judgemental support.

i am a former bulimia patient. well, i say former, but i will always have it.

i take medications that help with it (anti-depressants work wonders--prozac especially), and when i went to nursing school, i saw what happens to the enamel of your teeth and how (if you use laxatives like i did) your digestive system stops working and comes to depend on the laxatives. i'm a firm believer in knowledge is power.

however, with dieting, i find myself getting really worked up if i go over on kcals, and i want to go back to that behavior. it takes a lot of willpower, but it also takes the strength to say "i need help". a counselor, a friend, someone who's been there before. i took all the laxatives and other meds out of the house, and promised myself that i'd not buy them again.

the vomiting part was harder, as i had even gotten to the point that i didn't even need to stick my finger down my throat. i went to the dentist, and they told me that i was rotting my teeth. i honestly got scared to the point that i knew i had to change.

shoot me a friend request if you want, i've definitely been there. i can answer specific questions if you want.
