I have no idea what Lane Bryant is?
It's a woman's clothing store that sales sizes from 14-30.0 -
I went there once w/my neighbor.
Its rather expensive.
Must be because they need to use so much fabric to make clothes that size.

I've never seen skinny girls in LB unless they are with someone.
HOWEVER....at my last trip to LB, I saw a big black guy coming out of the dressing room with a ton of dresses in his hand. He looked at me and said, "It's for a prank, honey, so don't be lookin at me like that!" I shook my head and said, "I don't care what it's for, honey, twerk it!"
I ended up buying the same blue maxi dress he did.0 -
Since they go down to size 12, I can shop there. But their clothes do run big and the style is tops with those hip bands and hide the waist. I don't need to do that anymore. I can still wear their t's and tank tops, but they are expensive. I can do better in Old Navy.
I never got that...those shirts just make me look pregnant!0 -

I believe a US 12 is a UK 16.0 -
Well the only time the skinnies who love me are at a LB is when they are with me. I guess they could get the accessories there if they wanted or some cute jammies.
If a smaller person was treated rudely well once again thats wrong, and I hope they would talk to the store manager. You never know why a person is shopping at a store they could be looking for a present or really like the cute accessories.0 -

You know what though the shirts that do look cute on you and fit nice will last a nuclear explosion. I've had shirts that are probably 10years old and I still get compliments. I've had good luck with Fashion bug clothes too sad they went bye bye.0 -
I worked for LB for 9 years. They are a good company and they do not discriminate in hiring practice and at least while I was hiring it was practice to tell new hires to treat men and skinny chicks like any other customer. Assist them in finding the items they need. I adjusted protocol in my store (due to the amount of men who wanted to try things on) to place things on hold near the desk while the customer was shopping rather than in a room so that we do not automatically assume someone would not be trying on because of size or gender.
Items in LB have become more expensive over the years because of a shift in the late 90s when they were bought by The Limited. (owners at the time of Victoria Secret, The Limited, NY and Company, and Express) this parent company took LB in the direction of more trendy clothing and gradually increased the pricing. LB was sold to Charming Shoppes a few years later but the trend toward more expensive higher designed items continued. Personally I do not like the styling as much as I did during the Limited years.0 -
more attractive = more customers = more profit
I guess LB must have some sexy sales associates because there stock is doing very good and was bought out for $890million
yea and obesity rates are def not high
Not trying to get into a heated debate, however, plus sized women need clothes too. And since we are barred from shopping at places like "AB &FITCH, Victories secret", and MOST clothing stores in the mall and Wal-mart, Kmart and Ross, quite often have the FUGLIEST clothes especially now that the 80's are back in style....please allow us plus sized people some place to buy clothes without thinking or commenting on how America has accepted the obesity trend.0 -

Actually, if you go to the stores they actually do have the same selections for larger women. Sometimes they don't carry them in store to save space, but they have them online as well as selling bra extenders. Most people (previously myself included) think that VS only caters to women the size of the models they use, but it's just not true.0 -
OMG I'm finally cool enough that _noob_ made a parody thread...I can die happy.

Maybe it's a conspiracy or some sort of deep Freudian need to see large nurturing breasts they want to see voluptuous naked fat women and by limiting our choice well we just have to run around like naked heathens. Fine I accept your desire I will go naked and avoid shopping in smaller size stores for the good of humanity. I accept my position in society as the venus of wilendorf.0 -

It was an economic statement, not a social statement.0 -

Thank you, no I did not know VS carried larger sizes online. I don't usually buy their stuff because they've never carried my size in their store. That and they are way to expensive for my pocket book.
But since VS does sell larger clothes, does that mean they too have accepted the obesity trend?:devil:0 -

If you sign up for a VS Angel card, you get 10 dollar off rewards when you spend a certain amount of points (1 point = 1 dollar). If your account is in good standing and you get I think 500 points, you get upgraded to an Angel VIP card, which means even more rewards plus triple points on occasion It sounds like a lot of work but it allows you to pay it off in bits and work up your credit, even if just a little.
Yes, they've TOTALLY accepted it, just look at all their huge models! :laugh:0 -

Many, many years ago I was a skinny girl who used to go there to buy clothes for my mom. They didn't treat me very kindly. I won't shop there.0

I used to work there. You have to be a size 14 to work there, so that you can wear the clothes. 14 is far from skinny. Npo offense to anyone, I'm a 16 now..0
