Gaining weight...I don't know why and its making me crazy

I just got my Fitbit one about two weeks ago and ever since then, I've logged on everything I've eaten, tried to be more active. According to the fitbit summaries, I've been burning more than what I've eaten for the past 2 weeks. Why is it that I've been steadily gaining weight in the past 2 weeks until today, My fitbit scale said, I've gained 3 lbs. My plan was to lose 1 lb a week instead I've gained more than that!

HELP! I'm losing hope here.... Had a difficult pregnancy for my first baby and now that we want to try again, doctor told me to lose weight first so there may be a chance I won't get gestational diabetes and minimize complication. Hoping to try for another little one by the end of the year.

Do you weigh what you eat? Are you underestimating calories or overestimating your activity?

Really check this, because it's usually the problem.

the types of foods you're eating can cause weight gain. I know there have been days that I stayed under my calorie limit and worked out but my food was salty or just plain bad choices

3 lbs is probably just water weight, especially if you're starting a new exercise program

This and also the food portions - making sure they're correct. If you've eaten a lot of sodium it can cause you to hold the water weight and also just plain starting up the exercise again can cause it. Give yourself about 4 weeks to see any progress. Don't give up yet.
  • You mentioned you got a fitbit one, and a fitbit scale? the same time?

The scale may have been a difference from your last scale, as all scales are different. Otherwise watch the sodium, lower the carbs, and up the exercise... that's what I'm doing as I seem to have plateau'd the last 3 weeks.

It happens to me after I had soup with so much sodium, usually I drink lots of water for the next two days to flush all sodium, then all my water retention weight comes down.
