Hi there, i've been using the fitness pal tools for awhile but didn't realize there was a whole message board /website ect.. guess i've been in too much of a hurry, I live in illinois (close to st. louis mo) and I am following dr. fuhrmans book Eat To Live. This will be my 2nd attempt, its not so much a diet as a lifestyle change, the first time I changed my eating style my family were totally against it and I eventually gave up.. I should have just stayed with it as I lost 40lbs! of course i've put it all back on but thats about to change.
Wishing you all much luck in your weight loss journey, anyone else out there have over 100lbs to lose?
me.

I definitely had over 100 pounds to lose when I started so I know how overwhelming it can be. It's very doable with healthy foods, appropriate portions, and exercise.
Oh yeah, and maybe most importantly -- determination & patience.

I have over 100 to lose as well and I have been doing this since 5/1 and so far I am down 26 pounds and feel great. Good Luck with the lose and if you need a friend send a request.

I got 100 to lose myself. I know it will be at least a year maybe more to reach my goals. It helps to have support of others, and someone pushing you to get it done. The key like you said is lifestyle change. I need to follow the program until I get the results I need, then switch to maintenance mode to keep it off. I wish you the best of luck. You can do it...setting your mind to it, and taking the first steps is the hardest part.0

Hi and welcome,
I have a 100 pounds to lose also. This is a great site.0 -
welcome to the club!!! I also have over 100 lbs to lose-having my first weigh in tomorrow so here's hoping for a losss............0

When I started I had 73lbs to lose. So far I've lost 14lbs. I try not to think about how much or how far I have to go. I just concentrate on what I have lost and how much better I feel. My advice keep going don't give up and you will achieve your goal. Welcome to the site and good luck from Ireland.0

Hey there-- please see this link. It is the story of our very own MFP member-- familygirl37167
The title of the story says she lost 278, which is incorrect-- that was her starting weight.
However, she did lose 141 pounds, in 11 months 5 days, all thanks to good old fashioned calorie counting and exercise, and faithful logging and interaction here in the wonderful world of MFP.
Tamara was featured yesterday on The Today Show's, "Joy Fit Club." Her story will make you cry. She's an amazing friend, amazing inspiration. Her message is always so uplifting-- see her smile-- that is vintage Tamara.
It can be done, friends. Don't lose heart. Slow and steady. No easy fix. No magic pills or potions. Straightforward determination, will control and perseverance. You all can do this.0 -
I started out with a 100lbs to loose and I am half way there and I can thank this website for a lot of it. Between this site and my trainer I have a whole new sense of accountablity that I didn't have before.0

Hi there! When I started I needed to lose 180 lbs and I'm down 106 lbs as of 08/07. This site has been an amazing tool for me, I hope it is for you as well.0

I have 113 lbs. to lose. I have only lost 3 lbs. so far, but I know with hard work and some determination I will get there. I also know the slower I lose the weight the more likely I am to keep it off. I wish you all the best and I know you can do it! :-)0

Welcome to the threads. I started with over 100lbs to lose. I've been at it for 6 months now and have been successful at losing 40lbs so far with the help of a nutrition coach and personal trainer. I have found this website to be incredibly helpful as far as entering in all my food for the day, but more so, I enjoy the support system I have developed. Interacting with people who are going through the same exact thing you are helps me stay on track. They really know what you're going through when sometimes people in "real" life don't.0

I also started with over 100 pounds to loose! I began this journed and transformation in Feb. of this year and as of today I am down 81 pounds! I still have about 40 to 50 pounds to drop but I am on my way! YOU CAN DO THIS!! BTW, I strongly recommend the magazine COOKING LIGHT or any of the cookbooks. It is AMAZING!!0
