I am from the south so I have eaten lots of white rice in my day.
A friend slightly older than me says his first day in the army he was confused in the mess hall because he didn't see the rice.
He went back and asked where it was to learn that in other parts of the country they do not eat rice with every meal.
(This was a while ago so times have changed, but rice is eaten often here)
I tried to eat brown rice and like it fine. I do not mind the grainier texture, but I cannot cook it well so I have reverted to white rice.0 -
I prefer white for the odd time that I do eat rice. Sure, brown may have a bit more nutrients in it but I'm not really fond of the taste. I eat white rice mixed half and half with quinoa.0

I prefer brown, both for the fiber and protein content and taste. I never ate much rice until I tasted brown.0
