I started using this website yesterday and read something about apples, splenda, and a microwave. Well i put it all together (you can also add cinnamon, i just didnt have any in the house), and had some really good dessert-like breakfast! I had it with a packet of high fiber instant oatmeal this morning and my sweet tooth was way satisfied

Anyone else have simple, sweet, low-calorie breakfast ideas?

  • Thanks for posting this..it sounds great, I am not a big breakfast eater..What is your calorie intake for the day...mine is really high like 2400 for a day...isn't that a lot?
  • MFP tells me i need to eat a net calorie intake of 1220 calories. It also tells me to eat 2,220 calories and exercise 1000 of it off. Since i'm just starting out with exercise, I only add 300 calories or less, making my intake goal of 1500 or less. If that makes sense.
  • I guess it does, it told me I would be down to 169.8 in 5 weeks if I ate like I did today...so that is ok with me....maybe I was not eating enough..because I sure was not loosing in weight...

I love mushy warm apples with cinnamon. I also like a mushed up banana with some peanut butter.
  • That sounds good..

There's recipes for pies that do the same thing....mix fruit with jello and other ingredients before baking. The Jello with the berry juices makes the filling thick.

And to the OP -- my Mom used to make those all the time. Peel and core an apple then put it in a custard cup with a little sugar/pie spice in the center hole. Cover with plastic wrap and nuke till soft. They're quick and easy baked apples without having to turn on the oven.
