How do you keep yourself from getting discouraged when the weight doesn't seem to come off like you want it to? I do some cardio exercises, but I love doing strength training. I find myself giving up when I don't see a change in the scale. It's almost like I have a tape recorder in my mind that says you are not losing weight because nothing changed on the scale, even though I can see my arms and legs getting smaller.

Oh my gosh there are SO many ways! If you love weight training, track your progress as you lift more and more. If you can't see the loss on the scale but you can see it in your body getting toned, track it that way! myfitnesspal even has a place to do that - in the same place you track your weight. You can even add your own thing to track, so you could track what you're lifting. Or how much of your big toe you can see today. :) Personally I get really discouraged when I don't reach a goal that I set for myself, but I tend to be able to stick to something for a week. So I'm thinking of making a board or a series of jars which have my mission for the week and then a spot for all the goals I've accomplished. None of them will be weight-based. They'll be things like "eat my recommended servings of fruit & veggies", or "skip dessert", or "hit the gym for 5 1-hour sessions".
Mostly, if you get discouraged, don't track it that way. Think of another way that you can track being healthy, that keeps you on track, and that gets you to the next level.
Also, sometimes it just takes saying "tomorrow is a new day"...or "this next hour is a fresh hour".
Also also don't weigh yourself every day.
    YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Thank you for the encouragement. :) I've gotten better about logging my calories and it is helping me realize that one of the reasons I'm not losing weight any faster is because I'm still eating too much of the wrong foods and the Dr. Pepper has got to go. As I have started making small changes each day, its becoming easier and easier.
