Doing things backwards. Yeah. I'm a little crazy.

It's not us that are crazy, our scales are messing with us! I too get multiple readings within a very short period of time. I have forced myself to wait until I've had a BM (gone #2) which is when I get my most accurate (lowest  ) reading. Thanks for posting your story!

Lol. I like this story. I actually did this a while ago too but for some odd reason, the number didn't change. Go figure! Awesome job on the loss & best of luck to you with the last 20 & the surgery.

have you made sure your scale is on level ground. make sure it does not rock at all and that it is sitting on hard floor not carpet. those things can make a difference. when you get different reading each time you step on it, (one immediately after another) there is something wrong with the scale.

Your tale put a smile on my face. Congrats on the loss so far, no doubt you'll be on the list for those new knees before you know it! My scale plays with me as well... up two, down three. So I play back too, I'll hold the vacuum in both hand, or the dog. I know my floor is not level and my scale gets "stuck" at certain numbers (probably just to antagonize me) so in my mind I'm teaching it a lesson. Next time, I'm going to try backwards...thanks for the tip!

This was great! Made me laugh. You just sound like a fun person who enjoys life and finds joy in everything. That's not crazy at all :) In fact, that is a gift. :flowerforyou:

I'd be getting new scales. (I know you said they are new but they sound faulty)
I had scales that constantly changed the weight. Went & bought a cheap pair from the local store & they are PERFECT. They read the same numbers EVERY TIME.

You are delightful. My scale always gives me a lighter weight than anyone else's scale. So I like my scale; we're friends.

No...flat, tile floor in the bathroom...as level as it could be. As for a faulty scale, I believe that all scales have their quirks. I am in the process of 'weight training' this one.

I put on serious face. "Listen up, Scale. I am ALPHA in this bathroom. You are under MY FEET! So, behave; or I will just keep stepping on you, until you give me what I want."

I have an uneven floor in the bathroom, so you would probably get a hoot out of me moving the scale by microinches trying to find that level spot and testing it for any slight jiggles and then promising myself never to let it move again once I find the spot. But when I step on that scale, it is very consistent--even if I step on it ten times. No, I won't be turning mine around--it is too hard to find that one spot that is totally level. :)

Don't turn the scale...just back on to it, Sis. That'll work.

My scale is in my closet now.

I take it out from time to time, and we mess with each other for a few minutes, laugh heartily, and back to the closet it goes.

I daresay I'm a little less crazy than when I used to step on my scale several times a day and allowed those numbers to dictate how I'd feel about myself that day.

Then again, the crazy probably just switched gears and found something else to do.

Like hot flashes. What are those about anyway? Now that's crazy! Gosh it's hot in here. I need my fan ...

Okay, I have to admit, I tried it this morning. I weighed in at 215 backwards and 213.8 forward. Unfortunately it didn't make my number go down from where it was prior to todays weight :grumble:

Update: First weight of the day was 220.8 which puts me at 0.2 over yesterday, but I know that is lie. Backwards did not adjust that number; so, I am giving my scale some time to wake up and play nice.

I am going to take a shower, brush my teeth and check back with that stubborn, little beast in while. It know that "I will be back!" So, I expect something better. I am kind of hoping for 220.2 pounds this morning, putting me in the 51 pounds lost category. "That would be a really nice number today, if you are listening, God." (Hint...hint)

I had to carry my stupid scale out to the kitchen today to get the number to move down from 220.8 to 220.2 pounds. My hubbie weighed himself in the kitchen too; then, he took the scale back to the bathroom. He got the same weight. So, I stepped on it again. Now, it was saying 220.2 like the kitchen weigh-in. This scale is going to be the death of me...or should I say...I am going to be the death of that scale, if it doesn't stop acting so bizarre.

Oh well...another 0.4 pounds down. That is good news.
