Hot Yoga

So I'm going to Hot Yoga today (for the first time... eek!) and I can't figure out how to add it? They just have regular yoga on here and I'm guessing I'm gonna burn more than that number.... thanks!
Also, any feedback? Will Hot Yoga help you loose weight?

Never tried it personally, but my best friend did it and said you sweat like crazy! lol She said you lose inches/weight really fast, because you literally are drenched. Take PLENTY of water!
Have fun!0 -
I generally estimate depending on how I'm feeling after my session. If I spent the full 90 minutes doing every pose and really pushing myself, I'll give myself 500-550ish calories. Its really hard to estimate, but I do think that I push myself a lot harder in hot yoga than I do in regular yoga so I give myself more calories than what plain old "yoga" would give me. If I don't push myself all that hard, or if I spend most of my time in a child's pose on the mat (which you'll probably do on your first day - don't feel bad, it is so common), I'll give myself fewer.
I don't generally eat back my exercise calories, and I don't put too much stock in my estimated weight projection, so logging my exercise correctly has never been a huge concern. So take what I suggest with a grain of salt!
Enjoy your session. It is addicting! I'm sure you'll have fun. Drink loads of water, but I would also recommend bringing along some coconut water, gatorade, citrus water, or something that can help you put the salt back that you sweat out. Before I brought gatorade with me, I got terrible headaches after every session!0 -
I LOVE hot yoga! I've been doing it for the past month, and unfortunately it's way to pricey to keep doing it without the deal I have now so I'm going to have to stop
But I googled it and found a few sources saying that for a 150 lb person, one 90 minute session of hot yoga burns approx 717 calories! I just adjusted it according to my weight0 -
check the calories you burn while exercising, walking, jogging, yogaing etc from this website:

just put your current weight and time pperiod and you'll get the calories you have burnt0 -
Thanks I did love it!!!! I'm going to make this a habit.0
