A friend, anyone?

I'm starting up a diet for the 3rd time, and I hope my last. I'm determined and ready. I'm not scared anymore, but the journey is easier with friends. Friends bring me motivation, I've noticed. When alone at my house with no encouragement, I've been lazy and procrastinating. I had a horrible time eating as well. Now I'm on vacation, and strangest thing is I'm COMPLETELY motivated again. It must be the change in scenery and the change in my social life. But vacation doesn't last forever. I'm looking for friends.

I'm Cassidi and I'm ready to change.

Hi Cassidi! I originally lost 24 lbs on here, but have gained back about 8 of them...which I have been successfully losing and then regaining over...and over...and over. It's a really hard lifestyle to maintain, but I'm going to continue to work at it! :) This is something we'll have to work at for the rest of our lives, especially as we get older. I log in and post just about every day...and I log my food 95% of the time. Feel free to add me as a friend!!!

Hi Cassidi. I'm always on the look out for motivating friends. I know exactly what you mean about the rediscovering motivation. I've found that, with not seeing my friends recently, I too have become more motivated to lose weight. Please feel free to add me. or not. No pressure. Whichever you decide, good luck!

Add me, anyone else can, too!

Biggest thing to note right off the bat; it isn't a diet, it needs to be a lifestyle change. A diet is something you eventually end. Do things that you can do forever!

Hi Cassidi! I've just hit 145 consecutive days and 22lbs down and it really does help having proper friends on here - not just a long friend list. Feel free to add me.
Also, do t think of it as a diet cos they dont work. This is a lifestyle change - you've decided to change your life for the better so well done on being awesome!

Manda Jean you are so right. We have to realize it's a life style change. If we let our guard down we'll be sitting on the couch tooooo much and eating the chocolates and taking in way more calories than we are putting out. See the modern world has harmed us in this way. Early last century most people did walking wherever they went. Some farmers and city folk had horses. So, we must "WORK" our bodies as God designed them that way! Also, the longest living people in the world meet almost daily to socialize with their friends. Look it up! My sister a retired "Heart nurse" says the one most important trait for long life is "STAYING ACTIVE"!!!!!!

  • Hey Cassidi, first don't diet!!! They never work. once you finish a diet you almost always gain some or all the weight back. You have to look at it from a life style change. Little changes in your diet and activities can have a huge effect on weight control. This site is a great place to monitor both exercise and eating habits. Dieting is always short term goals. Make permanent changes in your diet. Learn what foods work together to help burn fat and introduce them into your daily diet. Being active is so important. You need at least 45 minutes of activety each day that will get your heart rate up. It can be alot of differant kinds of excercise. Find what is fun for you. Don't be affraid to mix it up. Good luck!!

I know I need to change my life style, but I don't want to think of it as that big. I want to take on each day, one at a time for now. I definitely don't really think of it as a diet, it's just how you say it.

Hi Cassadi :) I'm totally in the same boat! I definitely need the motivation and support (and sometimes just a good kick in the butt! haha) I'll add you and anyone else too! Feel free to send requests!

On another note tho....I added someone about a week agao and they totally keep blowing their limit by like 500-600 calories and when I asked them about it they acted like it was no big deal .... :(... that was a totally discouragement, I would like people who are serious about this...I'm not saying you can't ever go over, heck I've went over, all i'm asking that you try!
  • Wat ever fits you best. thats whats important. I always seem to fail in the end if I go on a diet. Over the last 2 years I have lost over 70 lbs. I have gained some of it back, but I've keep most of it off. I've been making little changes like changing from whole milk to 2%, or eating fresh fruits for snaks instead of chips. These perminate changes have really helped me to be sucessful. But you do what works for you. I'll try and give you good positive support. Thats what its all about.
  • Hi Cassadi, I would like to be your friend.
  • Hi Cassadi, Feel free to add me as a friend. It took me a long time to get set on the right path. I am down 29 lbs and doing it slowly but correctly I usually log in daily, but the last 2 weeks were crazy. I had pneumonia and strep throat....I am trying to get back into my workouts regulary. I would love to share with you what has been working for me and you can feel free to try or not. We are all here for support which makes this such a great site!
