All I can do for exercise because of heath issues is to ride a stationary bike for a very short period of time and my bike says that I have only burned about 40 calories but MFP allows me 150 calories a day for the same amount of time. I can understand their being a difference but that seems really out of wack how should I handle the calorie count?

Could it be the speed difference? When I jog I get different calorie counts based off my speed.

It sounds like you are doing a spinning bike.

I always use what the manufacturer says. It should better be able to know exactly what you did. The MFP is more of a generic, "ideal" world scenario.

Did you exercise machine asked you for any specifics like age, weight? If it didn't I think that I would go more with fitness pal ( depending on your weight) that the bike. Calories from the bike are probably set from a 150 pounds person and mfp goes with your stats. A bigger person burns more calories for the same exercise than a smaller person.
