What size weights to start with?

Hello all,
I have been going to the gym regularly, but I have been doing cardio only. I am going to start weight training next week. I have a routine set and ready, but I'm unsure of how heavy to start. I'm working on losing weight and tightening skin. I *think* I'm supposed to start light, but I want to ask before I go for it.
Thanks!
EDIT: I'm 6'2" and weigh roughly 330. I've been eating roughly 1500-1700 calories a day, and go to the gym first thing in the morning. Don't know if I should change that or not, but I like going at 5:30. No one is there!

Start with an empty barbell (45lbs) and get form down. Then add weight each week.
I have a friend that's almost your body double and I'm 'training' him in my home gym. After about a month, we've got his squat up to 170, bench at 135, deadlift at 205. This was starting with an empty barbell.0 -
I agree with getting form down and then adding weight. Good luck!0

Definitely start light, better to add weight than to hurt yourself.
Also if you can, have an instructor at the gym check your form first time with a new exercise.0 -
Thanks for the advice all. I will keep it in mind when I start tomorrow..0
