Just ran my second 5K!

I just ran my second ever 5K with my hubby. We both beat our times from last year by 3 min. each. He of course runs WAY faster than me and much more often. I have never been able to sustain a run or jog for longer than 2-3 minutes. Today, I did it for 1.25 miles! Over the past year I have tried so many different ways to lose weight. I took up Zumba and that was pretty much the only thing I had going for me. I absolutely love it. But I ultimately plateaued and began gaining my weight back. My sister introduced me to the 24 day challenge and I jumped on it! My hubby discovered Insanity and I wasn't about to be outdone by him. So with Advocare, Insanity and Zumba I have found my flow to fitness. I didn't realize just how big I was last year till I pulled out this picture. The funny thing is, this first photo was 4 months into my fitness journey. I had already lost about 10 lbs.

This is amazing, way to go! That's definitely something to be proud of! You've come quite a long way from last year and I'm glad you've worked past your plateau too :-) And you look amazing now!0

Great job! I'm training for my first 5K now, using the Active Couch to 5k app. I, also, had never been able to run or jog longer than a minute or two and now I'm finding myself going 20 minutes before I feel like my heart's going to explode or my knees will give out! Huge accomplishment.
You look great, by the way. Glad you're seeing progress and continuing to work hard!0 -
