Red Wine / Alcohol Calories

Hi all... stayed in check with calories last night but included some red wine. I am curious, if you include the alcohol calories in your caloric intake (and let me tell you, I was measuring my glass out literally to the T for the first time!) will you still loose weight? I feel bloated today and not sure if its from the glass of red wine or maybe I just need to have a BM in general... Sorry for the TMI!

Congratulations, you've discovered sustainable weight loss. You can eat whatever you want as long as you hit your macros and stay under your calories.

I've been drinking wine and including it in my food log since I've been on MFP. It hasn't affected my weight loss that I can tell (except when I drink so much that I go over my calories).

99.9% of people will tell you they do. What goes in, gets tracked. I do not, and it hasn't wavered my weight loss. When I drink I don't want to limit my fun to my calorie restriction, so I don't track.

    It's been fine for me.

Thank you!! Yes it was a nice treat. Question - what do you mean, "marcos"?

    "Macros", not "marcos".

It's short for "macronutrients", and refers to your protein, fat and carbohydrates.

She's saying that as long as you hit your targets for these things (especially protein and fat, usually) for the day and don't exceed your calorie goal, then go ahead and eat what you like.

When I eat pizza, I close my eyes. I still lose weight, so it must work. :p

I drink between 6 and 18 oz. of wine a day, log it,
and I have had success with weightloss while drinking.
Here's another question though: I tend to just trust the data base and add 150 calories per 6 oz glass. I also used my scale to weigh which might also mislead. I wonder if I am logging accurately.

Thank you! I go over in my protein all the time... and sugar for that matter. My sugar is mostly from fruit, but I'm wondering if these issues play a big role

Don't worry about the sugar (unless you have a medical condition that says otherwise, there's no need to track it at all).

As for the protein, go over and enjoy! MFP settings are notoriously low. 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass is a good goal :)

Providing you are within your allowance, yes, you will still lose weight.
