How much pasta?

I go with 2 ounces/56g unless I'm really hungry or not having much else for dinner, then I'll go to 3oz/84g.
One interesting thing that I've found is that the shape of the pasta matters--the type with holes in it (ziti, rigatoni, penne, rotelle, etc.) takes up a lot more space on your plate than the types without (bowties, spirals, most long noodles) and ends up feeling more satisfying. More forkfuls for the same calories, so it takes longer to eat and seems like more food even though it isn't.0 -

Great tip about pasta with holes in it! Thanks.0 -
I usually eat about 80-100 g per serving for an evening meal. But on occasion I may have more if it's something I really love. Generally I still have pretty large portions for dinner, but just put more sauce and less pasta to control calories.
For lunch I usually eatleftovers, but will have a smaller serving.
I had spaghetti for dinner last night and realized I actually don't eat this much (above) at one meal. I cooked about 2 oz of dry pasta and that made 3 servings, 2 of which I had for dinner and 1 will be lunch today. So, that would be only about 20 g per serving, or 40 g for dinner and 20 for lunch. Sometimes I use a little more pasta per serving, but not much.0 -

For me personally, taking into account my size, weight and calorie allowance (about 1800).
Whenever I am face with how much to eat of a forms that is not a good source of protein, such as rice, pasta, scalloped potatoes etc. I have half a cup. I can always eat more later, or check my intake. Half a cup is my default if I don't know:)0
