Is it just me, or do some people vehemently oppose you making progress in your life, whether it be losing weight, achievements at work or the like. Does anyone feel like whatever they do, or try and do trivialised by certain people and these certain people continuously try to put you down, and when you bite back you're the *kitten* for reacting.

It's not just you - this topic comes up a lot. I personally don't keep those types of "friends" around so I don't have this problem, but I know you can't choose your family. Some people just go through life thinking everything is all about them, and if you're doing better than them at something and dare to talk about it, then they take it as a personal attack. My best advice is to cut these people out of your life, or if you can't (because they're family or coworkers) then just don't talk about the things that set them off when you're around them.0

Ya . . . I think we all have one or two of those folks around. Unfortunately I think most of it is jealousy. Especially if what you are achieving is what that person wants but hasn't been able to accomplish (does that make sense?). I know that it's easier sad than done, but try to take it with a grain of salt, and often we have to consider the source. If someone reacts that way, they usually react that way about EVERYTHING. So often, you have to almost expect it, then carry on.
I know it's frustrating! Especially when you want to share with folks the good things you've accomplished. Try not to bite back, though. Then you lower yourself to their level. (Believe, me, I know it's hard not to, but I learned the hard way to hold my tongue). Know within yourself that you are working hard, exceeding your goals, and will continue to better yourself in every aspect, no matter what their response is. Use it as kind of a motivator . . .
I'm sure that doesn't help much - but don't let their words get you down! You are doing what is best for you. Again, they are no doubt jealous of your successes and angry at themselves for not being able to do what you were! Carry on ~0 -
An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.
An object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an outside force
It is easier to prevent and criticize someone who is in motion, creating, etc than to create and move yourself. In effect they are trying to be the outside force that alters your motion.0
