Buying Shirataki Noodles Online

Many of you have seen my various shirataki noodle recipes and have had trouble finding the noodles at a reasonable price. I am fortunate to have five Asian markets nearby (a benefit of living near an Air Force Base) and can find them for the VERY low price of $1.29/bag.

I DID just find them online, however, at the very reasonable price of $1.69/bag.

I buy the noodles in the top left corner (the 7oz bag of the white noodles).

Shirataki noodles can also be purchased with tofu blended into them-- but they have to be refrigerated. If you buy pure shirataki noodles (without tofu) they don't have to be refrigerated unless you open the bag. Be sure to buy the ones WITHOUT tofu if you order them online so that you don't have to worry about them spoiling.

REMEMBER that the secret to good tasting shirataki noodles is to:

1) rinse them thoroughly in hot water and

2) dry-fry them in a non-stick pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray-- on HIGH-- until they're bone dry.

Once you're followed those two steps you can do whatever you want with them.

    I've tried them twice in the past few days and I LOVE them, however, they are causing me a certain set of gastro-intestinal issues. :embarassed:
    Is that typical when you first try them??

    I also had this issue. I think it's because they are all fiber.

    Asianfoodgrocer.com is great, the prices are anyway, but their shipping?? Not so much. They want to charge me almost $12.00 to get 10 7oz packs of noodles to my house. I don't think so. I'll find them here.
