Hi,
Is it ok to drink to protein shakes when working out at home? I will eventually go to the gym next month I think. I am 5'7, weighing 147.4 lbs. I want a lean body and I am trying to eat as much as I can but my weight won't go up.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

I do, it's the only way I can get in enough protein. I don't "work out" per se, though I do walk a few miles almost daily. If you need more protein, go for it.0

Yeah dude. Just be careful you dont get addicted. Put some whole milk, ice cream, bananas, and peanut butter in there.0

Yes, they might become too delicious. Like a milkshake.0 -
try downing a half a gallon of milk a day on top of your regular eating and get back to me...0

whenever you want one. try to get one in after a workout, and pair it with some carbs. such as fruit, rice, rice cakes, oatmeal..or whatever0

you can't get addicted to protein shakes, and should make them with fat free skim milk or water. Use them as meal replacements, I have one with a nature valley oatmeal bar or some yogurt and oatmeal. Low in carbs and fat and keeps you full until lunch. Usually with milk/shake and whatever I have it tops off at 600 calories.0

600cals? wow, that would kill my cal intake for the day. i drink the shakes, but mainly use the powder and water...sometimes, ill add 1/2cup of skim milk to enhance the flavor. i try to keep my shakes around 300cals (double scoop)0 -

If you get a really good protein powder, you don't even need to add milk. All I add to mine is fruit, ice, and water.
Protein shakes should be the second line of defense against protein deficiency, after eating real food. I used to get 200 g of protein per day without shakes. The only reason I started drinking shakes is because it saves me a lot of time.
Also, pay attention to the calories. The shakes can't make you gain or lose weight on their own.0 -
that's only if your include a cup of light and fit lowfat greek yogurt and 1/3 a cup of granola oatmeal. The shake by itself is in the 345 range with a 190 cal protein/granola bar it maxes out at 545. I'm 6 feet tall and workout an hour and a half six days a weeks. my cals are around 2300 a day at around a 20% deficit. Try the EAS LEAN 15, its only 100 cals and still somewhat filling, not enough protein if you're lifting though.0
