thanks chipper. it is really great that this group has been going for so long! a little about myself...

I am in grad school, so my work / school life is CRAZY... I have a couple really big school / work related things in the next couple months... In sept. I am going to Paris to present at a conference and in Oct. I take my comprehensive exams to move forward with my degree... so there is going to be a TON of pressure on me... and in the past that has = stress eating...

I turned 24 a couple weeks ago and took a good hard look at myself... (clearly I wasn't pleased :) so I am here to try and make a lifestyle change and drop the weight I have gained throughout my college career.

I have two dogs, and a long-time BF ... all of which are very supportive... (the dogs like the exercise part) ... the BF doesn't quite get why I NEED to do this (sweet that he "hasn't noticed" the 30+ lbs that I have gained....) but he is supportive none the less...

hmmm... I am wicked excited to have found this group - a friend of mine here at school reccomended the site specifically becuase there were great groups like you guys to offer support and motivation..... :) I hope that I can be as helpful and supportive as you all are.... have a great day... this is day-1 for me... so far so good!

Freckles - Welcome to the group, I love them and hope you do to!
Cathy - Stay with, life has been crazy for you but you are doing great. Good luck with the cake, I would demand DH takes it to work with him...
Lindsey - Great job on the early morning work out, I wish we had something like that here it sounds like fun. Keep up the hard work it will pay off.

    AFM:
It has been a great last 2 weeks so I hope to keep it going into our next challenge. This week is finally back to normal for me which is nice. Today is a relax day otherwise known as cleaning and laundry day. But got a early start so laundry is almos done and some cleaning will happen tonight once dd is in bed. Hoping to get in my shred later but again may have to wait until tonight.

Well not much to say today so I will check in later to see how everyones day was.

my b-day was the 29th of july. i know so many people with july b-days... :flowerforyou: in fact three of us here at school (there are only 40 grad students in the program i am in) have the same b-day...so it is fun :drinker:

happy belated b-day to you chipper.

also, on an unrealted note. i have to admit i had a twix today.... :indifferent: so much for a perfect day-1... but i logged it and with some slight changes at dinner it fits... i think i am going to like this site... esp. if i can fit in some chocolate :embarassed:

I totally just ate a 3 Musketeers... LOVE chocolate!

Cathy - I think I have it all worked out to get the chicken dish at Olive Garden, have ONE breadstick, and some minestrone soup (instead of the salad - which I also love, but can't stop eating once I start). I ate a light lunch (plus the fun size candy bar) so I have some calories to spare for dinner.

After hearing you all talking about the 30 Day Shred, I put it on hold at the library. I got a message earlier today that one of my held items is available, so I'm hoping it's that one. It's either that or Jillian's "Burn Fat Boost Metabolism" so I'll find out when I go down there after work. Can't wait to try it out! (I'm assuming it's not "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" since I am 80th in line for that book...)

lindsey....great planning. i love the shred, but can only do it every other day. my ankle hurts too bad. i did notice a change in my waist while i was doing it reg.
freckles...that's my anniversary. we just had our 33rd. i believe that is tiffs bday also.

well, headed out to bible study. have a great night and stay away from those candy bars. LOL.

Stayed the same! Rats!!!!! Tomorrow I start school with students. I have been working 12 hr days trying to get the art room together. I feel super stressed, to be honest like most years. It just seems like so much to do to get started. I really want the kids to start out great and I feel if my room isn't ready than I am not ready to make their year great.
I see we have a new person..... Freckles... Welcome! I am not going to comment on everyone right now... Just spending some time relaxing till tomorrow.

Cathy- I actually came in under my calorie goal yesterday! I'm sure I overdid the sodium intake though. I only ate one breadstick (my friend ate the other 2, and we didn't get another basket), got the soup instead of salad, and ate my whole meal. I totally forgot about the delicious Andes mints they give you with your bill, so I ate those too. Took my dog for an extra lap around the neighborhood after I got home, so we both got a little extra exercise.

Izzy- My husband goes back to work on the 23rd. He hasn't changed his classroom in years, even though I've offered to help him update it... Lots of Calvin and Hobbes stuff, and there hasn't been any new C&H stuff in years... I applied for a teaching job at a local elementary yesterday, so hopefully I'll at least get an interview. Although it wouldn't give me very much time to get anything together.

    Today's plan:
B: Kashi Go Lean Crisp, skim milk, peach
    S: Cottage cheese and tomatoes
L: Turkey, mustard, and tomato on light bread, yogurt, carrots and hummus
S: Banana (if my husband goes to the store before I get home for lunch...)
D: Leftover spaghetti squash with beef stir fry

    Workout:
    Core Camp class
    2 mile run

    Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning friends!

Well...I am so behind on posts! I don't have time to comment on everything but want to say:

WELCOME KIELY! This is a FABULOUS group of ladies! Like Cathy said, her and I have been on here since the group originally started (in 2007 I do believe). A little about me...I am a new mommy to a beautiful daughter who will turn one on September 5th. Before becoming preganant I was a gym-aholic and finally getting into the shape that I had strived my entire life to see. Due to being sick so much while pregnant, I gave up my gym membership and gained WAY more weight than planned. Now...I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight but minus all the muscle weight (so I'm acutally bigger than I was because I have much more fat than I did). So I am working on losing that! I still have about 20 pounds to reach my ultimate goal weight. My husband and daughter are my motivation, along with all the wonderful friends I have made on here. So...we are so glad to have you!!

Well...I must tell you all that I had a great workout last night! I decided to do a Carmen Electra Fit to Strip Strength Workout that I have at home. I didn't burn a TON of calories but I can definitely feel it today! I think I will add it into my routine maybe twice a week. I also was able to get in a 2 mile run on the treadmill! YAY!! I put Kadence in her walker in the basement, turned on some tunes, and she bounced/danced to the music while I ran. I don't think she'd let me go for much longer...she was wining by the end, but it was something!! Glad to know now that I have that option, especially since it's been so stinkin humid out!!

    Food plan today:
    B-1/2 c. Banana nut cheerios mixed with 1/2 c. Quaker oatmeal squares, 1 c. skim milk, 2 c. coffee, 4 tbsp. sugar-free creamer
S-Banana, Kashi soft-baked ripe strawberry bar
L-Leftover 4 oz. Butterfly chop in allegro marinade, baby carrots, light yogurt
    S-Peach, handful almonds
D-Chicken, green salad with spinach, red lettuce, green lettuce, avocado, spritzer dressing, and chow mein noodles.
S-2 reduced fat graham crackers, 1 c. watermelon

    Exercise plan:
Shred level 3, 2 mile treadmill run

    Have a good morning!

Good morning sixers! thanks for being so welcoming!

Kristin, your daughter is wicked cute - congrats on having an adorable daughter and getting back to your pre-prego weight so quickly... (and doing so the right way). I am at the point where I need to drop the last 20 / 30 lbs, but more importantly need to tone up... I use to be very athletic and now I feel like a cream puff...

chipper. happy belated aniversary... 33 years... WOW!

LH. Great job beating the breadsticks... I hope that I will have the same level of motivation tonight... My best friends b-day is tonight and she wanted to go to this great mexican place... it is a small local joint so there is not nutritional info and everything... (even the 2 salads they offer is COVERED in cheese...) ... to make it more difficult they give you these amazing homemade chips, salsa and guac... I planned a light day and am going to try my best to hold off on the nachos, and only have 1 beer... I planned to be the DD so that will help :flowerforyou:

Today started off great... I woke up early, and took my puppies for a long walk (lots of hills) and then eat a healthy b-fast... I already have a great salad made fo lunch... and I'm saving the rest of those calories for dinner... I'll check back later! :flowerforyou:

morning sixers. last night went okay... I only had 4 chips and a tbsp of guac... but i did have a small bowl of ice cream  I did two long walk/runs with the puppies and my legs are burning this am... . I got those shape-up shoes (not b/c I think they will tone my butt... although I wont complain if they do.. haha) but b/c a friend reccomended them to me as she has similar lower back / leg problems as I do (I ran xc in HS and really did a number on my legs / body) ... anyways they feel amazing... pricy... but they feel very bouncy and supportive at the same time... I haven't been able to run / walk that long in forever w/o pain :drinker:

tonight the BF is taking me on a "date" - we are going to the beach down the road for a picnic an swim... I also need to take the pups for a long walk/jog when I get home from work... I may ditch work early as I have earned some serious OT...

ps. i lost 1.8 lbs from when I started 1 week ago :flowerforyou:

Lindsey - YEAH !!!!!! I am so happy for you, congrats. What wonderful news! Keep us up to date on how things go, this is so exciting!

Hey everyone, this is a quick post for me I will most likely be MIA until monday, but I have a quick request.

Can you all please send up some prayers/ good thoughts to my family. We just found out my nephew has two major cysts on his brain. One is the size of a golf ball on the left side and on the right side he has running from his nose to his ear. They are affecting his brain development. However they are filled with fluid which is a good thing, so they will be going in to do surgery in about 1 1/2 weeks and will be inserting a shunt into his head to help with continured drainage. So if you could send some prayers up we would appreciate it.

I have to run for now, but will check back later.

I love having you girls on here and it means the world to have all your continued support.

Also sorry to put a bummer note on here it just hits so close to home because he is 1 month younger that our dd abby.

    Love you girls,
    Tracy

Okay, time to play some serious catch up (even though it's the end of the week)

Tracy - I'm sorry to hear about your nephew. Your faith will help considerably, but modern medicine also has some great advancement. Just make sure he's in the best hands possible. I hope the best for you and yours.

amyls8711 - Congrats on the weight still going down. Take care of yourself. Don't forget to have "fun" with all the stress of ttc. It can be overwhelming, as you already know.

Lindsey - CONGRATS! What an awesome surprise. Now you are already on a healthy setup. Probably smarter than me who thought "since this is the only time I can be big and no one will say anything negative, I'm going to eat EVERYTHING. I forgot about the after". You'll do wonderful. Keep us posted.

Cathy - Sounds like as always you are continuously busy. Hope things are going well in your world.

Freckles - Haven't had the chance yet to say WELCOME. Great to have ya! I love your setup on your profile for the upcoming challenge and "stole" it for mine too :)

Kristin - Your baby is going to be a year!?! WOW!!! That's awesome. Time flies. The second year is fun as they discover EVERYTHING and start figuring out how things work. You are going to love it.

Tiff - How is the studying going? I'm loving your dedication to getting exercise in. Very inspiring.

Sandy - How is school going? Summer went by too fast on this end. Everyone getting settled in?

Lauryn - How are you doing? How is your world? Still downing those grapes (so yummy). Thinking about ya girl.

Tracy - Great job on the past couple of weeks. Isn't it 21 days that makes a habit? You're doing great.

amy_36 - How are you? As to your question of how many to consume, when I consistently stay within my 0.5 week loss of 1490 calories, I actually end up losing and most of the times more. It's when I eat too less or REALLY overeat that the weight goes in the other direction.

For everyone I might have missed "HI"

    AFM:
Nothing much to report. Busy, busy summer. Took hubby bike riding 15 miles over to a pool party yesterday. Very hilly. Also got some friends of mine doing kickboxing class with me on Thursday nights and a Zumba class on Friday. It's great for me because I really wanted to bail on the classes this week, but knowing they were going to be there inspired me.

Went school supply shopping. OMG, it's ridiculous. And I know I missed about half the stuff somewhere along the way. I need a vacation :)

Well back to work for me. Talk to you all on next week's thread.

    Any names yet?

Sleek September Sixers? *too tired to think of something witty.

Good morning everyone. Today my granddaughter is getting baptized. I wonder how she will do? She is soooo independent. If she doesn't want to do something she lets you know. Hummmmm! As for my classes. They are going great. I have been at this school for 10 years and love it. We are using a different scheduling mode this year. I think it will be fine. A 3 day rotating schedule for Art, Music, and PE. So every 3 days I will have the same class. Usually I would see them once a week. This year I will see them twice a week for 2 weeks and the 3rd week I will see them once. Getting started I always have a ton of supplies to check in and put up. Hopefully it will back to normal hours by the end of this week.
Congrats Lindsey and as you know education is a great field. I absolutely love teaching.
Don't really have time to chat at the moment....
