Bummed that Greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom has so much sugar in it :-/. It's something that I enjoy, but it takes all my sugar for the day. I thought it was a good choice but maybe not?

I just had some yoplait lemon greek yogurt and it has 14g carbs and 9 g sugar. That was less than Chobani and it was so good!

This is why I buy the plain variety and add my own fruit. Get creative. I've only been able to be successful because I've made up or found better alternatives for the things I love.

Try Fage greek yogurt(plain) and add hidden valley ranch(dry dressing envelope) and use it for dip for your veggies. You will get your protein and veggies in:)

I get the plain and add stuff too, though I tend to go savory as a dip. I like powdered peanut butter, soy, ginger and sriacha. It's peanut sauce without the excess.

Add a small amount of BBQ sauce (your favorite - you won't need probably more than a teaspoon, maybe 1.5 teaspoon depending. A little goes a looooong way.) to a cup of Chiobani plain. Mix it in with shredded chicken, black beans, romain lettuce, grape tomatos, whatever other veggies you want. Best lunch ever. Yumyum. Just like BBQ chicken salad without all the calories of using BBQ sauce and dressing.

If you like Indian food, you can mix the plain yogurt with a jar of tandoori paste and marinate your meat in it. Then just roast it in the oven. So delicious!

As far as sweet, there are basically two ways I fix my yogurt in the morning. I either add frozen strawberries and a few drops of chocolate stevia drops and a splash of vanilla extract (whir it around in the vitamix) and it's like neapolitan ice cream. I've said this before somewhere on another post. OR, I mix the yogurt with an equal measure of unsweetened applesauce, some cinnamon, and that all important splash of vanilla. Mix it all up and it's like eating custard. I adore it.

I recently discovered Greek yogurt and love it! I buy plain and then add honey and sliced bananas to it. Can't wait till berry season, to replace the banana :)

You could try a plain greek yogurt with a spoonful of homemade jam if you're looking to replace it with a healthier version! Much less processed, and you control the amount of added sugar.

I also like to take a single serving container of plain greek yogurt (I like Fage 0% or Wallaby 2%) and put about a cup of frozen mango on top. Delish. Other things I like with my greek yogurt: apple slices (use it as a dip), basically any fruit, cereal, etc. Makes a great breakfast or snack.

    Hope I could help!! :)

I have been eating chobani yogurts quite often and only mix in about half of the fruit (or less really) from the bottom. I know I should probably buy plain and mix my own fruit. But one of the reason's I buy the chobani with fruit is the convenience factor. I don't log the yogurt differently so it still shows the higher sugar, but I know that I am actually eating less then it shows.

I find agave nectar works better in colder substances.

Buy plain yogurt. Fat free, Sugar free. Place a coffee filter in a strainer, place it over a bowl, and pour the yogurt in. Let it drain in the fridge. The longer it drains, the thicker it gets. You can wait until it is the consistency of cream cheese even. Somewhere where you like the consistency, put it back into the container. Add fresh fruit as desired. If the fruit is already cut up, it's quick. You can even puree the fruit with some honey or whatever sweetener you like-all up to you how much sugar or not sugar you add.
Good for you, simple to do and you are in control of the sugar.

I buy the plain stuff and add to it. It's much easier to control your sugar that way.

The fruit at the bottom yogurts are not as bad as they seem because it's not like it's all added/processed sugar - fruit has natural sugar in it. So, you can buy plain yogurt and add fruit to it, but you're still adding sugar back into it.

Are you asking about the tandoori? I find that a whole jar of the paste will usually cover a whole chicken, or 6 skinless breasts. You toss out the marinade when you put the meat in the oven, and you could make it as thin or thick as you like it. The tandoori paste stains the chicken a beautiful bright red and the taste is just heavenly. Not too spicy, but definitely Indian.

Dannon light and fit Greek yogurt is sugar free and fat free, 80 calories, and I think 12g protein. I like it, you can get it in bulk at like costco or same club, or they have it at Walmart too, I believe.

I buy plain greek yogurt, put some frozen blueberries on top with some stevia and homemade granola. It takes me all of 3 minutes to prep each day. I'm a mom of 3 young ones, full time employee, student and wife and this isn't a problem. Meal prep cuts that time down to even less!

I also buy plaing FAGE and add fruit. Usually some frozen unsweetened strawberries or blackberries that I let thaw and mash in to a fruit blend and add a few drops of stevia to sweeten it or some pineapple chunks in juice not syrup. Great this way and you can rotate different fruits or put whatever you want in it. I also think it's great with a little cocoa powder, stevia, and a scoop of almond butter/peanut butter. Tastes like a decadent dessert!
