Workouts after reaching goal

I have been working out almost everyday while I am trying to take off some weight. I was planning to cut back my workouts to 3-4 times a week after I reach my goal. I'm wondering if I should start to cut back on the workouts now. I know I won't be able to continue working out daily forever but worry that if I start skipping workouts, I will lose motivation. Also, if I wait to cut back on working out after I finish losing, will I gain weight back since I will be less active?

As long as your diet is intact and you are eating at a deficit or at maintenance you will not gain weight back.0

I have lost weight and kept it off. 45lbs total. I got a desk job and gained 6lbs over an 18 month period which is the few lbs I'm trying to lose. I was very active before I got the desk job so my activity level went down quite a bit.
I lost weight the right way with diet and exercise and maintained for over 4 years so no this isn't why people lose weight and gain it back. It's just a question. I have never worked out this often before. That is why I was wondering what doing a lot now and then cutting back would do.0 -
As far as cutting back your workouts, it's going to depend on your schedule. I love working out and I would workout 6 days a week easily. Some times life gets in the way and I can't. It's all finding the schedule that works for your life. The key will be your diet. Try to keep your caloric intake within a range and the weight will stay off or decrease.0

You don't need to workout every day, but find a new goal that's fitness related. Whether it's to Squat 225/315/405, run a 5K/10K/Half Marathon or whatever it is cyclists do. Find a goal and go for it.0

This. Exercise or moving around isn't just about weight loss. You do of course as you know have to eat less than you need too. So cut back workouts it you are finding it a chore. I believe in finding ways to be active , that you enjoy. My job is very physical and indoors. Sometimes I am just plain too tired to exercise outside of work, but I feel a hell of a lot better when I get outside for a walk or run, or when I keep up with strength training. I like to walk and try and run. I feel better from strength training, I have a neck issue, so keeping strong helps. I also spend Saturday mornings at aikido. I done or two hours as a 'helper' with the little kids and a two hours in the adult classes. I do this to spend time with my eldest and for personal enjoyment. Find something you enjoy to do. It will be a great mental break two. Congratulations on you weight loss too0
