Quitting smoking = no weight loss?

Hello All
When I first started I lost 1 lb in a week. YAY!. The second week I decided to quit smoking. ( Still going only 1 or two cigs every few days) Well my diet has been the same and I also started exercising instead of just dieting.
At the end of the second week I weighed 3 lbs more than when I started. I am hoping my body is just adjusting but I don't know.
MFP set mt restriction at around 1700. I manually set it at 1310. Don't want to lose fast ( although I wouldn't mind of course) just want to consistently lose.
Any ex smokers have any similar experiences?

I don't have experience but my job is to work with smokers trying to quit. There is some weight gain associated with quitting smoking but average is about 8 pounds and certainly people can overdo or gain less. That would be for people who are not doing diet and exercise modification like you are. Although some smokers may eat less- components in the cigarettes lead people to feeling full- the diet is usually much more unhealthy. Congratulations on working on quitting! Best thing ever you can do for your health. I would guess maybe water weight retention from a new exercise program. I can certainly answer more questions about quitting smoking but I know that was not your original question. Hope you get some answers from others that have quit.0
