HRM: Polar FT80

Hi everyone!
Does anybody know anything about the Polar FT80? I read somewhere that there is a black and white display face available in the market. Can somebody tell me their differences aside from the color display? Are they both quite new in terms of date release? Which is better among the two when it comes to features?
Another thing, since I live in the Philippines I am planning to get it through Amazon. When I was browsing I saw these two Polar FT80 and I would like to ask if anybody knows which is the newer model? The information given are pretty general so I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Just reading your post. The two units you're looking at are the same. One white, one black. Personally, I think the white one looks cooler. Are you into weight training? The FT80 has that cool wave line that tells you when you can do your next set. So, if you're doing squats, or arm curls for example, once you've completed your first set, you wait for the waive (representing your heart rate) to go back down to the horizontal line before you start the next set. It keeps you on track for your entire workout. This unit would be overkill for someone that just needs basic functionality and calorie information. The FT4 would be perfect for that. The one I use is a little more complicated since I use mine for bicycling and need other information related to average time, distance, time in heart rate zones, etc...
Hope this helps.0 -

Hello!
Thanks so much for the info, it was enlightening. With regards to your question if I'm into weight training, well not yet but I'm planning to for toning purposes. As a matter of fact I'm somewhat looking for an HRM that has a lot of features so that I can have options although I'll draw the line on being a triathlete. I guess I'm leaning more into weights, boxing and using the xbox kinect. Do you have other HRM suggestions for my needs? Thanks once again!0
