Scale obsession...anyone else?

So I have always had an extreme scale obsession, I weigh myself as many as 3x a day, sometimes more. Always first thing in the morning then sparatically through out the day. I can't seem to go all week without weighing in, of course once a week is when I do my "weigh in" which is always Friday's, but that's just when I record it on here, am I the only one who does this? Anyone else have this problem, it really is a pain in the butt!

I weigh myself once a day but I don't care what it says (it doesn't rule me). Then bi-weekly I weigh-in (on Mondays).0

I'm the same way, except that I try very hard to weigh myself only once a day!0

Deanna- i am totally scale obsessed. like you I weigh myself about 3x daily, and not even consciously sometimes. its crazy ,huh? especially when we know how much we can fluctuate after even drinking a glass of water!!0

I do not weigh that often but not because i don't want to. I look at it as the same as eating chocolate. I want to really bad but it is unhealthy to do it all the time. Chocolate is bad for my butt and scales are bad for my mind! :happy:0

Yes, I have the same issue!
So frustrating and time consuming!0 -
I weigh myself first thing in the morning.... it sets the tone for my eating then...this morning I was down 2 more pounds than yesterday morning and that made me smile and kept me from cheating on my food intake so far today... the scale is my motivation.... need to see it keep going down, down, down.... your weight can go back and forth throughout the day at different times....so try to just weigh in only once a day..... keep your sanity...lol ;o)
good luck,

I had it too... but it became depressing to me and made my moods bad. I have stopped and only weigh every few days to check up on it and i am in way better moods now!! not upset and depressed every time it would go up and down.0

My scale is in my closet. It will come out this weekend once, then go back in for another week. I used to be the same way, but it's not healthy. We don't do this for a number, we do it for feeling good and living healthy. To much scale time scews your perspective because the number and the way you feel don't always match. It's a long term thing, that's why MFP suggests losing only 1 lb a week.0

Yep, I know...I wish I could just hide it and take it out once a week, but it kinda set's the pace for my eating throughout the day...if that makes any sense.0 -

See I agree it can work as either motivation....or unmotivation...lol! I realize it goes up and down throughout the day but the obsession is to the point where...I eat my last meal no later then 7pm, don't snack and only drink water after 7...sometimes if I get really hungry I'll eat a small light snack, but not very often....anyway so when I go to bed I weigh in and I know I'm not suppose to be over a certain weight or it'll back fire on me in the morning... every nightly weigh in I try to be down .2- .4lbs from the previous night. Seee I told you, obsessed, but5 I've always ALWAYS been this way.0 -
